Why did God create the devil?

The answer is simple: He didn’t!

Yet, why did God, who knows the end from
the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), create Lucifer, the
brightest and most beautiful angel, knowing he
would become the manifestation of evil? Why
did He create the angels that would fall with Lucifer
(one third of them, according to Revelation
12:4)? And why would the omniscient God create
Adam and Eve, knowing they would fall?
The answer is in Psalm 18:30, which says
that God’s ways are perfect. He created all
things perfectly. In a perfect environment in
heaven, however, a prehistoric angelic contest
started when Satan (who was Lucifer) rebelled
against God. And in a perfect environment on
earth, that angelic conflict led to the historic consequences
of Adam and Eve’s fall.

Often, when we speak with unbelievers
about the gospel, we hear questions such as
“Why do children suffer? Why do people get
cancer?” Few Christians have very good answers
from the Bible. The truth is this:

God has an absolute will for heaven and
earth (Psalm 135:6); yet, along with a perfect creation,
God gave the gift of free volition—first to
the angels and then to mankind.

This thread will show that because of God’s
gift, we have a right to self-determination. We
have the right to privacy and the power to make
choices, decisions, and determinations in every
aspect of our lives. If our choices violate the law
of God or the law of the land, we have consequences
to pay. But on Calvary, the debt for sin
was paid in full. Now God has set before us a
choice between life and death, blessing and cursing
(Deuteronomy 30:19).

Yes he did, the word create means to bring into existence, if God did not bring the Devil, Satan, Lucifer, or by which ever name you identify him by into exsistence, please tell me who did.

I believe this thread is going in a nice place and may answer a question many have about the things the church says.

The church says that God is the Creator of everything, yet when you start talking about sin and Satan they deny that God created it. What they SHOULD say in my opinion, is that God created EVERYTHING for His glory! EVEN SIN. Does sin bring glory to God? Not directly, but how can one get forgiveness from sin? ONLY THROUGH GOD! Does repentance of sin bring glory to God? MOST CERTAINLY! Read Romans 11:32 "For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all." Though our sin does not bring glory to God, God DOES use sin for His glory. He uses it to put us in the same boat, why? SO THAT HE MAY HAVE MERCY ON US! I believe He created Satan because He knew that Satan would cause all men to need something greater than themselves, a Savior to pull them out of the pits of hell and wash them clean. Just as Satan didn't know he couldn't win, man does not realize that he can't win, so truly the only free part of our will, is the ignorance in it. God knows what we will choose, but we do not. He created each man as one of two things, an object of wrath, or an object of mercy. He uses the objects of wrath to show His power and His might to His Beloved.

Romans 9:
"19One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?" 20But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?' "[8] 21Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?
22What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction? 23What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory-- 24even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?"

God created the potential for sin, therefore, He is the indirect author of it. (I hear the gasps) Call me a heretic, but it is the only thing that makes sense to me. God is the AUTHOR of EVERYTHING, PERIOD. No exceptions, and EVERYTHING, good things, worship, church, love, hate, evil, goodness, kindness, sin, EVERYTHING will bring glory to God in the end. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord! Even the objects of wrath in hell. Sin is a part of this world and our God is Sovereign over all of creation. I hope you guys will read and think about what I have written. It takes nothing away from who God is. He is love and He wants to love us.

God created mankind in love. He loved man before man was created. Before God created man he knew he would have to die for his creation. It was out of love that he created man.

God created satan in perfection and gave him freewill. God is just and still loves his creation.
