It's difficult to explain to an American how misleading that article is. If you want to get a better picture of the state of religion in the UK just google 'decline in religion UK' and skim through a few of the results.

This decline has also happened in the USA.

Rick Santorum explained yesterday that since the Sexual Revolution the socialroblems are evience that the experiment failed, and Single Mother Families are raising criminal kids in poverty.

Along with the sexual revolution has come the necessary opposition to church and religion, which insists on sexual prudenc.
The teenagers who will be sexually active between 12-26 when they finally marry is what keeps that next generation away from church.

Forty-one percent of English women have punched or kicked their partners.
41% admit to it, the real number maybe higher or lower. Then you have to ask just what is a punch or a hit. When I was in my 20's it was really no big deal for a women to hit me. Compared to getting hit by a man you could hardly feel it. I did have one girl friend who had 5 brothers who were a bit rough with her growing up. If she hit you then you could at least feel it and know you had gotten hit. I eventually did break up with her because she was a little bit to much of a wild cat for me.

What's that one-hit wonder in the '70s about a woman who blames cognitive dissonance for making her feel like an atheist?

I'll have to look it up.

The main claim to fame of the King James Version is that they got rid of the anti government attitude that you find in earlier translations.
 -- Er ... what?

Is it true that people are not allowed to stand for office in the US if they do not say they believe in a God and that Atheists can not apply?

Not in a written rule, but pretty much yes, this is true. More than half of the people that vote are religious and would not vote for an atheist.

Using one of your crusade analogies, I vote for people despite their religious beliefs, not because of them.

I agree. You never know why religious people are doing things, or who they are doing them for. I mean, it's hard to enough to trust an average person who claims to have a relationship with an invisible friend, but a politician?

Voting an atheist to be President is like appointing someone who doesn't believe we went to the moon as director of NASA.

Another good analogy would be like Habitat for Humanity building a house for Bill Gates.

God gave us this country, and it would be a slap in His face to vote an atheist in office -- anywhere, not just the Presidency.

I would much rather vote for an atheist who thought things through, rather than, say, an evangelical Christian who made decisons based on his "gut."
If this country should ever turn its back on Israel -- it's over, in my opinion.

¡ JERUSALEM !

God gave us this country,
Just not in any way that you can demonstrate.

Do you have any idea of how comical this sounds? Would not your omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent deity see the hand coming? Would it sting? :)

Oh, we understand your point of view, we just disagree with it and find the things you say as a result of it to be funny. If you were a politician, however, it would stop being funny and become worrying.

In case anyone has forgotten, the topic of this thread is:

Why Creationists Believe in a Young Earth

Nothing that has been discussed since 9am CST this morning has had anything to do with the topic.

Dealem, I do not care whether or not the earth is young or not. However, one of the best evidences for a young earth is the fact that evolutionists maintain old earth must be right. Evolutionists are always proven wrong in time. Therefore old earth must be wrong, and a young earth must be right!

Either way for me, it's all good!
