Here's a question: why create a universe? And why create life, specifically human beings, on planet earth?
Dunno. Is it possible for there to be nothing? Here's a question: why create a universe?
Your question is faulty. It presupposes intent. And why create life, specifically human beings, on planet earth?
Well, no, I think the standard answer is to have fellowship with God.Boredom?
I think that the standard answer is something like "to give glory to God". IOWs, God "needs" someone to sing his praises, if God can be said to need anything at all. No, that never really made sense to me.

I think you're coming at this believing that God doesn't exist. Suppose for a moment that God does exist, and then reconsider the question.Dunno. Is it possible for there to be nothing?

No, I am trying to come at this with no presuppositions.I think you're coming at this believing that God doesn't exist.
Define what you mean by "God".Suppose for a moment that God does exist, and then reconsider the question.
Maybe God wants nothing out of it at all. Maybe it was simply for the benefit of his creatures. You may be right, but what is God supposed to get out of that? The correct answer along those lines would seem to be for God "to have fellowship with human beings".

Question: Why did God make us ? Answer: He made us to love us.
I believe that might be correct. If I were God I would want someone to have fellowship with. Eternity in solitary confinement does not seem appealing to me. Why do we have children. I do not mean as a species in some survival mode but as individuals why do we want to do it? The Catholic Church's catechism that i was forced to memorize early on in my life had a very simple answer: Question: Why did God make us ? Answer: He made us to love us. Now that is my perspective but not being God I can't vouch for its veracity in terms of echoing his sentiments.
Doesn't sound like he's very good to me, then.Maybe it is like CF is to me; entertainment.
Why would it be backwards if God created them so that they might fellowship with him?Which didn't yet exist in order to be needy, so he created them? That seems a bit backwards.
