Why would it be backwards if God created them so that they might fellowship with him?
Boredom?
I think that the standard answer is something like "to give glory to God". IOWs, God "needs" someone to sing his praises, if God can be said to need anything at all. No, that never really made sense to me.

Mark
As three is the number of perfect union so we have three arch angels...
1. Michael - Over strong angels
2. Gabriel - Over wise angels
3. Lucifer - Over worshiping angels
I believe that the creation of this universe is in response to the rebellion of Lucifer. They know that we were created to fill their vacated position and war with us to try to keep us from their old toys!
And what if those same children go to be with God as soon as they die on earth, but will live eternally with Him by His grace? What about the 9 million children that die each year before the age of five?
Mother, father, children - three - Makes the Union of a family

The notion that God created the world for his glory does not mean that God has some need to be worshipped. God did not create the world out of any need of his.

And mine was a serious answer. I would create a universe out of sheer boredom. Not like I would have anything better to do as a deity by itself. It's a serious question.
In that case I would say your motives are morally suspect. And mine was a serious answer. I would create a universe out of sheer boredom. Not like I would have anything better to do as a deity by itself.
