We have the knowledge of how to do most things properly. What in our evolutionary past (or present) causes us to be so destructive in many things that we attempt to do?
There's a certain knowledge component, we know too much, assume too much, and end up stumbling through the dark with a beaker of nitroglycerin in each hand.
