Why I am a Methodist? Well I was raised in a Methodist home so that probably has a lot to do with it as most of us. But also I simply agree with their openminded approach to belief and christian principles. Wesley was a simple vanilla christian who believed in Jesus and his grace and wanted to follow him. He lived his belief. He looked down on no one nor any other denomination. What more do we need?

I'm 23 years old and I grew up in the Nazarene Church. 5 years ago I went to college (Roberts Wesleyan) and began attending an Assembly of God church. After graduating I continued to go and currently offered to help teach Sunday School there. I really enjoy it because the Pastor is an amazing speaker, the people are really friendly and they aren't like other Assemblies of God, very layed back and not charismatic at all. Which is what I always thought they were. I seem to get more from this pastor than any other pastor at this point in my life. So yes, I do go to another church, now when I go home to my parents I'll go to their church which is the church of the nazarene. It's my home church and I don't mind going once in a while.:)

Born in a Pentecostal church, around age five parents left there and started attending a Nazerene church, was there until I was sixteen, when I adamantly said, "I will NEVER go to a Nazerene church again!"

at 16 attended an AOG Church, where I stayed, went to school, became worship leader and associate pastor.

Then at age 25, my husband and I felt led very strongly to FL (from Indiana) (that's a whole nother interesting story..lol) and came to a place where I was downright SCARED to find a church. LOL So I ended up in a (gasp) Nazerene Church! My husband liked the pastor so much, and he wanted to go back. The people were VERY friendly at this Nazerene church - so much so that when my husband said he wanted to go back, I was like, "Oh Lord, this is a cult and we're ALL gonna die!"

So I fasted and prayed and fasted and prayed and fasted and prayed and said, "Lord! Get me outta this church!" And then (sorry if I lose some of you here) the Lord came to me in a dream - in a vision of the night - and politely (it was very polite..lol) let me know that no matter what church He places me in, He is still God, all churches (short of cults) are His, and He has need of me here.

So I'm in a Nazerene church..LOL

well for me i feel its a good mix in new and old. They look at what needs to re done in the teachings and how they do the severs and they change it. Same time they keep to thire roots.

lol as i siad in a paper i worte UM is a the best mix of non-denominational, Catholic and Pentecostal that i have found.

And other reson from all the UM cjurchs i been to. They leave room for the holy ghost to work in the severs. Say if the pastors does one thing like prays in place thats not set up or where he had before in the past then no one is up at arms and saying no you cant do that you have to stay with the set and you cant do anythig esle but that. But same time there is tradition on how things are done. But its not set in stone and can be looked at if needed and they do.

And aslo i like how UMC keeps the pastors accountable to what they do and teach.

i was raised in methodist church, and i'm in methodist ever since, i've been to baptist, angelican,
but eventually i return to where i used to be.
that's just a habit i think.i wont mind where i worship God, because i think except for tradition and slightly different way of explaining theology, the base is the same.and malaysia does not have much different types of chrisitian diversity association, so that's not much for us to choose and to be confused :)

I was raised in the Baptist church, but after I left home and was out on my own, I was invited to attend church with a co-worker and it was then that I first went to a Nazarene church. After some time attending there, I met my husband, whose father was the Pastor there. We were married in that church and dedicated our first child there, too. I've been a Nazarene ever since.

I go to a Wesleyan Church, but I don't consider myself wesleyan or anything else for that matter. Although I take part in church events and activities and love the church and people dearly. I was also baptised here this year.

Personally I think denominations are silly and pretty much each "denominational package" has something I don't agree with in there somewhere.

That's about how I feel as well.
