Why are we afraid to be bold?

Just like homosexuals don't all like to be categorized a certain way, I can tell you that all Christian fundamentalists do not like it either. Who are you referring too, what denominations, etc., when you use the term Christian Fundamentalism? I am a Christian fundamentalist and a pretty nice guy.
I know you are a pretty nice guy! I stand corrected

I mean to say that many of the fundamentalist christians on this board are bent on violence...their names, avatars, and postings prove it. They have missed the message in a big way.

God inspired it:
It is precisely because of the violent ways in which you and many others wield the message of God as a weapon, that gays and lesbians need to be bold.

Stare at this image for awhile, and decide for yourself if it spreads the love of Christ:

This is reason enough for us to be bold - and as I said earlier, it takes great boldness and courage to accept the place of shame that you and so many others want to put us - it is a place of humility and honor...a place Christ himself was and is willing to accept.

I believe I know where FA is coming from and I agree that there are times when I need to put on the full armor of God.

But as nervous as I was going up to my altar call and accepting Jesus Christ, if I would have seen a standard or church flag that had people in armor hacking with a sword it would have scared the living daylights out of me and I might have reversed my course, turned around and walked back up the aisle.

Still, the Armor of God is ours to put on in the name of Jesus when we need it. But most folks I know need to be loved and accepted into the church family before they get into the more advanced things that are harder to understand.

I know some folks that say the armor of God statement/prayer every morning when they get up. Then there are people like me who get into the armor when we need to. People just have differing views on spiritual warfare. Some of the denoms don't believe in it at all despite spurgeon writing about it and he's pretty liberal.

God bless everyone.

It is an excellent practice to put on one's spiritual armour every day.

The Full Armour of God

Helmet of Salvation: My mind is protected

Breastplate of Righteousness: My heart is protected

Belt of Truth: My innards are secure and firmly braced in the truth of Jesus Christ

Shoes of Peace: Everywhere I walk, peace goes with me, and peace will reign

Shield of Faith: Protects my whole person from doubt

Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God is my sword which is my only weapon of OFFENSE.

Cloak of Zeal: At my back pushing me ever forward to engage the enemy for Christ

Also, hacking with weaponry is NOT advanced - it is a sign of stunted spiritual growth.

"Hacking with weaponry" is a spiritual responsibility we all have. We life on a battleground, and we deal with spiritual warfare 24/7. We had better do as Paul tells us and don our armour daily to be spiritually, physiacally, emotionally, and mentally able to meet our daily challenges, defeat them and live successfully.

It is a sign of spiritual growth and strength. Amen.

But you will note that my remark about "advanced" is attributed to putting on the full armor of God when need be. I don't hack, I invoke the name and protection of Jesus Christ. He is my champion.

Who's hacking--apart from hacking up God's Word and trimming it to fit the homosexual worldview?

The homosexual is walking around with some armour missing, and the enemy has a bead on the head, heart, belly, some feet, and has stolen his/her sword. The shield may be the only protection left. Good thing there are sisters and brothers who can help shield, but they can't fight, hiding. If they don't hide, they are mortally wounded.

I have also never seen you hack, brother.
I did not mean to imply that YOUR spiritual growth is in a state of arrested development.

Man, could you be more wrong FA?

The fact is, I am not. We are soldiers of Christ enlisted into a mighty army!

2 Corinthians 10:3-6
We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 6 And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.

2 Timothy 2:3-4
Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.

Hebrews 11:32-35
And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

Revelation 19:19 WE ARE HIS MIGHTY ARMY!
Then I saw the beast and the kings of the world and their armies gathered together to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army.

1 Timothy 6:11
But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses.

The one person in that photograph who actually had the armor of God was the man in front of the tanks. That you cannot see that or will not see that I find disturbing.

I'm not afraid to be bold for Jesus and for His righteousness!! Fornication is fornication. There's no getting around it. Live a life of unrepentant sin and you die spiritually. Finis.

Jesus would not treat homosexuals with disdain...in fact he would have had compassion for them because of the way some Christians treat them. Especially the ones full of their own righteousness.
