There aren't. I don't go outside and regularly get stabbed or have my mail stolen, for instance.

Most people are decent, good people, doing the best they know how. If you got away from your religious ideology that focused on human depravity, perhaps you would see that.

I agree. However the very real improvements are being threatened by a rise of right-wing politics throughout the first world and increasingly effective tyranny in other areas.

Based on watching Yuval Harari's lectures, I believe the right-wing resurgence is a transient response, albeit one that could have serious consequences (especially environmentally). The weight of history is towards organizing the world into a single global system. And this didn't happen recently, it began under Hamurabi thousands of years ago and was further advanced by European political imperialism and capitalism. You can't put that cat back in the bag.

What evidence there is, I suggest, shows that things are actually getting better, not worse. Happy to post some if asked. However, I am confident that data wilk show that in general:

1. Poverty decreasing;
2. Literacy increasing;
3. Women’s rights increasing;
4. Violence decreasing (dramatically);
5. Wealth increasing:
6. Animal treatment getting better.

I am talking big picture here - globally and over large time scales.

Based on evidence of prehistoric skeletons, it's likely there is a great deal less violence in the modern world than in our prehistoric past. Early agrarian societies were especially violent.

If one believes that humans are capable of evil, and one also

Depending on what you mean by "evil", this is demonstrable false (other primates are more than capable of the same sort of violence that humans engage in). Human beings and other animals differ only in their capacities for abstract representation

You can get many different answers about this, but I believe Satan is now loosed and deceiving the nations and spiritually attacking the Church as mentioned in Revelation 20, just before the Lord returns. This is the Amillennial position on the end times.

I wish I lived in our country before the 1970s or 1980s when Satan wasn't as loosed and deceiving and I'd still grow up to be into my 50s or 60s. Why did I have to be born when I was, when God can just easily restrict Satan back and not have to have Christ return before I'm 30? So my parents and their parents got to live this world before after 30 but I don't?

The world becomes less appealing the more God opens your eyes. And heaven becomes the place where your treasure is. This song, "Turn your eyes upon Jesus" hits home for many world weary travelers.

Plato and the Greeks talked of eras or ages of humanity - Gold, Silver, Bronze & Iron. Not sure if after the Iron age stage the cycle begins to ascend or not.

Also the Kali Yuga is the most degenerate and thus bottom of four eras in Hinduism. So the most corrupt, sinful & evil souls are attracted to this time. In this system, after Kali era, the cycle turns upward and the quality of humans improves.
