Why are there so many atheists on a Christian site?

Humans apparently have the capability of causing strife to an all perfect being that he has to step in numerous times to murder them. They also can fend him off with iron chariots.

How does Lucifer have such power? If he's almost as powerful as God and has just as much influence, how does that work? How is he infinity minus one? More importantly with the supposed Clairvoyance he has, why did make Lucifer in the first place?

Third, the Platypus. A duckbilled, egg laying, mammal that's poisonous. Yeah.

Our beloved Church explains it very well in it's Dogmatics manual for the first year of college regarding theology students.

Man was created good, because God created everything good, it was created in the image of God, and with the potential and the objective of becoming in the likeness of God too, man having the possibility of sanctyfing himself by growth and development in virtue and by free co-work with God's grace. For him to become in likeness of God, God gave man all the powers, spiritual and physical he needed just to touch perfection, but for this, it was only needed one more thing, a moral exam, the challenge by which, in a conscient and totally free way, man can recognize and manifest submission and gratitude towards His all-good and all-loving Creator and to win, at the same time, personal honor and he also needed to pass this final exam so man to not fall into the same sin that Satan once fell into, pride. "It was useless that man can earn inmortality, perfection and everything else without him being tempted and challenged so he cannot fall into the same sin Satan did" says St. John of Damascus. The previous challenge is absolutely needed, this test is absolutely needed, because, as the Sirach 34:10 says in the Bible: "He that is inexperienced knows few things, but he that has traveled acquires much cleverness."

This being explained, the creation of man was neither despotism or tyranny, but the very manifestation of God's goodness and wisdom, so man can trully have freedom, the freedom God intended Him to have, and so that God wouldn't make man a puppet or a slave, forced to be happy with Him in Eden's garden. Moral power doesn't grow but through exercise and after a moral law or nowm aplicated in a certain manner.

About the Devil, we will talk later, I am a little bit tired now :p

I mean, not that I want them gone, but it just seems strange to me that so many atheists would choose to spend their time and eergy on a site that is antithetical to their worldview. The interesting thing to me is that they don't seem to be here to proselytize, which would make sense to me. I assume that they, or many of them anyway, feela sense of community here if they've been here for a while. So, if not to show the poor theist the freedom of atheism, what is the draw?

Willie Sutton was asked "why do you rob banks", he said "because that's where the money is!"

I always have that hope.
I remember a young man I met back in the days of Yahoo chat...a very very angry young atheist. My, how that man hated Christianity, and all things Christian! He threatened several Christians in private messages, telling us that he knew how to trace our IP and could find us any time he wanted....
I invited him to come to my town and I'd meet him.
He told me he'd love to come...and threatened me some more.
I told him I wasn't afraid of him, and he accused me of trying to set him up...I'd have my redneck friends waiting for him, he growled.
I told him I'd meet him in a public place and suggested the Dairy Queen.
He asked me what I'd do if he actually showed up.
I told him I'd buy him a hot fudge sundae...

The upshot was that the kid eventually relented, and today he is a devout Christian man with a lovely wife and three beautiful kids.

God is so good!!

To finally answer the OP. When I originally joined this site I considered myself a Christian. My deconversion is actually somewhat related to this site.

I've since stayed at first to find my identity, more recently because I've watched Christians who have no understanding of atheists, take it upon themselves to speak for atheists, and these days to make a record of all the "immature" and incorrect things Christians claim about atheists.

True, I've met a very great many atheists who are still atheists...cases like that one I just talked about are pretty rare...
But there is no greater joy, I think, than being able to hug a new brother or sister in Christ.
As someone else said...that precious one makes it all worth it...

It truly is wonderful when despicable, horrible people like atheists become truly human like you.

This point in particular is extremely easy to answer. God has given people, and angels, agency, or the ability to act for themselves. It is His greatest gift to his creation outside of salvation. He will not violate our agency even if it means that He is hurt by our choices. He loves all of his creation and is grieved when one agent chooses to harm another agent, but to take that choice away from the first in order to protect the second supernaturally is not something that God is willing to do, for the sake of the agency he granted to the first. I believe that every time someone gets hurt by someone else there has been a failure to listen to God on the part of at least two parties.

Firstly, the party doing the hurting. They have obviously not listened to God when he is screaming to them to not do what they are planning. Their heart is too hardened to hear Him.

Second, the person who is hurt has, in many cases, heard something in their spirit that says not to go that way, or not to leave yet, or some other thing that would have kept them out of harms way. That still small voice has spoken and they have chosen not to listen because they have their heart set on a course of action, or they have not heard at all because they have chosen to block out that voice.

Third, the party who heard God speak in their spirit to do something that would have helped the injured party, but they didn't understand why they needed to do that so they ignored it. I know for a fact that this happens. I have a friend who heard the Spirit saying that she needed to get off the highway in a bad part of town in the middle of the night. She did. She then had the feeling that she was to go into a convenience store and stand on her head, and then leave. She almost said that was too nuts and simply got back on the highway. She was prompted again and she decided that, even though she didn't understand, she would trust what the Spirit was saying. She went in, did the deed, and walked out laughing. The clerk stepped outside and asked her why she did that. Without hesitation she responded that she didn't know, other than that God had prompted her to. He started crying and told her in a nutshell that he told God that he was going to kill himself if someone didn't come into the store and do something crazy for no apparent reason. He became a Christian and I heard him personally tell that story (I've also heard it from her, but his telling made it less anecdotal because he had the emotion of what it did to him). I used to work at a convenience store in the worst parts of Kansas City overnight. I was almost robbed several times, and something happened every time that stopped it. I had a cop walk in at the same time that a dude was reaching into his waistband for a gun. I said something about being lucky he was in the neighborhood and he told me that it wasn't luck. God had prompted him to turn around and head back to the store. These people listened to what God was asking them to do and kept people from harm. I believe that most people, even Christians, ignore that still small voice and it causes someone harm that would have been unharmed had the person listened.

Long way around to the point that agency is something that God will not violate. Even Satan's.

I'm not an atheist, but there are lots of active forums here that aren't only for christians. That attracts non-christians.

I believe that too, in their hearts they want to believe, even if their mind is still poisoned by atheism and secularism they try to recover and meet God.

This theory is obviously incorrect, but I'm curious how you explain why someone like me who worships a different god is here?
