In context, "resist not evil" is the saying to consider, in this situation.
Matthew 5:38-42 Ye have heard that it hath been said,
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say unto you, That ye
resist not evil, but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
Because your real enemies will curse you and persecute you specifically because you follow the Messiah. It's THESE people who need our prayers:
Matthew 5:43-48 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you...
Revelation 11:12-13 And they heard a great voice from Heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to Heaven in a cloud; and
their enemies beheld them.[13] And the same hour was there a great Earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the Earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and
the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of Heaven.
But who is praying for them today, other than the two witnesses?
Revelation 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with
the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
If you want to know what this love truly is, the church of brotherly love... aka, Philadelphia, Revelation 3:7-13... is praying for Judah's remnant.
