Why are some people so unkind? I have been searching for the answer most of my life as I come across this strange phenomenon daily. But I am a big boy and I can take it.

There are many and various reasons. Some I can think of ...

Lack of Skills/Knowledge or Awareness
Lack of Awareness
Lack of Social Skills
Miscommunication/Misunderstanding
Negative Assumptions
Directness/Indirectness (in the way they communicate)
Misdirected Intentions
Self-Protection
Low Self-Esteem
Intellectualization of Emotions
Trust Issues
Emotional reactive
Superiority
Mental Disturbance
self-centeredness and complete disregard for others.

I have found it very helpful over the years when I say my prayers before I go to sleep to ask God to bless me with a good day to come and since I have added this request to my prayers each day is as good as it can get.
go ahead bury your head in the sand and don't take responsibility for your actions. There's a name for that.

It's called unforgiven. Because if someone doesn't repent to the one he has harmed, then he cannot be forgiven by the one he has harmed. If he doesn't make things right with his brother, he can never be right again. He can't even leave his gifts before the altar, because his gifts won't even be accepted by God. And depending on what we call gifts, today, it may even include your prayers. Matthew 5:23-24 teaches this in no uncertain terms.

People think that acts of bravery are like running into a burning building to save someone. But I think it takes more courage to repent to someone you've hurt. And even if your apology isn't accepted, your conscience is clear before God: This courage is rewarded.

I praise the Father for the things I have learned that day, and hardly a day goes by when I have nothing for which to praise Him. On the days when I've learned nothing, my mind is a blank at day's end. So I go back over the day, and find out what I did wrong.

There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who are called according to His purpose.

please sir I didn’t mean it, don’t hit me! Ha

we can put them in place or be grumpy or burdened or angry or patient. We will not be condemned for any of them. but what would lead them to Christ - the best example?

Matthew 12:36-37 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.[37] For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

What I like most about this Christian forum is that I can relate to fellow Christians and receive respect and fellowship and it toches my heart feeling all the forgiveness that is shown.

It’s not the mood that condemns you, but I guess I made a mistake in my use off that scripture. sorry

It is a puzzle not easily explained that some people's have less inclination towards kindness. Kindness is not a specifically religious quality, though I think most religions encourage it.

I remember from school that in the parable the Good Samaritan the man who showed kindness to a stranger in trouble was not a co-religionist. I am not sure whether that is relevant...

Jesus was a humanist, in that he did not place religion above human beings. That is what that parable is really about. Compassion should not be bounded by religious creeds.

This is a very good point that you have made kindness and love should be given freely by won't not so much by need or necessity. Wonting comes from the heart and true desire to show compassion to others.

No, Jesus was not a humanist. And yes, He did place religion above human beings. Religion is an extension of the virtue of justice that obligates us to give to others their due. The first commandment is not "love your neighbor as yourself" but rather "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength; this is the first commandment (Mark 12:30-31).

Also see:
Luke 9:60.
Matthew 12:46-50.

The grace of forgiveness is for the forgiver. We can forgive the one who has harmed us w/o the one who harmed us asking for forgiveness (Luke 23:34). Why would we let those who harmed us live rent free in our minds upsetting our equipoise?
