Part one of a three-part series

This is the first of three articles addressing why men enter the seminary to study for the priesthood and be ordained; why some leave; and why others stay. In some cases, I will use pseudonyms for the real priests and seminarians whose stories I will share. You won’t read about this in most Catholic publications that would like you to believe that seminaries are no longer infested with homosexuals, and that most bishops and priests today are devout and dedicated heterosexuals who sacrificed having a spouse and children to follow in the footsteps of Christ.

“Bob” was an altar boy who was inspired by the young associate priest in his parish to enroll in a minor (high school) seminary. It was during his period of psychosexual development that Bob was preyed upon by a priest faculty member who introduced him to gay sex. Never having had emotional or sexual feelings for women, Bob now identified himself as a homosexual. While Bob entered formation because he felt he had a vocation, his motivation to be ordained stemmed from being able, as a perceived “celibate” priest, to live in the closet and keep his “secret” from family and friends. As countless sex abuse reports reveal, by recruiting boys before they “discovered girls” and by “turning” them into homosexuals, the Catholic Church staffed many parishes and schools with priests who became sexual predators who groomed and abused teenage boys like they themselves were groomed in the seminary.

Anthony Gorgia felt he was called to be a priest ever since he was six years old. He was an altar boy, a lector, a Knight of Columbus, a master of ceremonies, and a eucharistic minister. Having been the valedictorian of his high school class and having graduated summa cum laude with a master’s degree in philosophy, it is understandable that he was chosen to undertake his theological studies in Rome. Anthony’s dreams of being a priest were crushed when he was coerced into leaving formation by New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan and former North American College (NAC) rector, Father Peter Harman, after he witnessed the seminary vice rector, Father Adam Park, preying on fellow seminarians. Georgia is only one of thousands of straight seminarians whose vocations were destroyed by closeted homosexual bishops, seminary officials, and priests who feared being outed like La Crosse Grindr Msgr. Jeffrey Burrill, Lansing Grindr Father Shaun Lowery, New York Grindr Father Francis Hughes, Philadelphia Grindr Father Joseph McLoone, Raleigh Grindr Father Clemente Guerrero-Olvera, Washington Father Adam Park, Santa Fe Father Steve Rosera, Springfield Father Peter Harman, and countless others.
