I can just see it now:

God creating a lava pit, and a scientist sticking his foot in it to disprove instant creation.
He should know better--if it appeared to be lava, then it would be hot.

And that would stop him how?

If he felt heat, then wouldn't he believe his mind is playing tricks on him?

Since when does physical evidence even slow down someone who thinks God is being deceptive?

I believe the first ten chapters of Genesis were written in Jacobean English ... yes.
Any particluar reason that you know of?

No, because he would regard the perception of heat as emprical evidence of the hotness of the lava.

Obviously you have missed the whole point here. Read literally, Genesis is deceptive and implies a deceptive God. But one does not have to read Genesis literally.

Just FYI, my pastor believes we will all be speaking Hebrew in the future ...

Zephaniah 3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

He believe this because of the verse just before it, which doesn't seem to have any bearing on Hebrew ...

Zephaniah 3:8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Can anyone tell me how this verse, coupled with Verse 9, points to Hebrew as our future language?

Just a pet theory of mine, based on the "books" in Heaven being the 66 books of the King James Bible.

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

If you don't know then we can't help you. The book of Zephaniah was mostly about the political situation in the time of King Josiah--don't see anything there about what language we make speak in the future.

Answer: It contains all 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.

You can't, because if you created it that way it wouldn't be a sedimentary rock--it would be a rock which appeared to be a sedimentary rock. And you would have no sedimentary rocks made naturally to compare it to anyway because you believe the whoe process of making sedimentry rocks naturally described by science is a lie of the devil.

I wouldn’t say it’s a lie, it’s a mistake. A lie is something that is intended to deceive someone not merely incorrect information.

That's OK, don't you believe that the Hebrew text of Genesis is a late translation from the Jacobean English of the original?

Are you saying the the Hebrew text of the OT was translated from the KJB, from English to Hebrew? I’m just asking because the way you worded it that’s what it sounds like.

What is it if after having a mistake pointed out,
a person persists in making the claim anyway?

It depends on the situation. Are you implying that scientists know that God created the earth in 6 days and are intentionally giving false information? In order for it to be a lie they would have to first believe that God created the world in 6 days then give false information saying He didn’t.

Because they believe the one pointing out the mistake is wrong?

I would have to have completely lost my mind to have
come up with that.
I asked you a general question.
How about just answering, instead of turning it around to
ask me a weird question?

I did answer your question, I was expecting thru deductive reasoning that you would’ve understood the reason why I came to the conclusion that I did. That was the purpose of the question but since you didn’t I’ll go ahead and give you the answer.

It’s still a mistake if the person making the mistake believes the other person is wrong because they’re not trying to deceive someone. They simply believe the other person’s information is incorrect. That’s not a lie that just a mistake. A lie is knowing the truth and intentionally giving false information for the purpose of deceiving someone.

I saw what you were trying to do. I rejected it as wholly
inappropriate, as answering a question
seldom is appropriate, and the less related it is,
the less it is an answer.

You kind of answered but shifted it a bit to what the
person " believes" AFTER being corrected.

Lets say you had insisted that all rocks take millions
of years to form after i pointed out that for volcanic
rocks it can be a matter of seconds.
That is not open to sane question, is it?

What would you call it IF someone persists in
claiming something even after their error has beeb
demonstrated? You still didnt really answer.

Can't go wrong with the council of the Lord.

Be that as it may, it seems like every Christian and their dog claims to speak on His behalf... and that leaves plenty of ways to go wrong.

I stated that igneous rocks can be formed in minutes in post 671.

Why are some Christians anti Evolution?

Do you know what igneous rocks are and how they are formed? I mentioned that in post 671 also.

One shouldn't judge God by "christians". His Word speaks on His behalf ... and yeah there are many interpretations .... it is the responsibility for each to study it for ourselves and to have a devoted relationship with Him.
