• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why are SDA so paraoid of Jesuits?

on the off-chance MC is able to address the questions about his own video
By "short" do you mean 41 minutes??

Question 1. of the different John Paul Popes - which one is "John Paul the Great"???

Question 2. in the first five minutes - Fulton Sheen is quoted as if he knows something about both Catholics and non-Catholics. Is this where Catholics will admit that quoting Popes, Bishops, Catholic Digest etc when they say something that is "inconvenient" --- still matters??

Question 3 - at the 12 - 13 minute mark your video actually uses the Apostolic succession of Judas. which is the only one found in actual scripture -- even though James dies early on in the book of Acts - and there is no Apostolic succession for him.

But the video admits that the model they are following is the one for Judas.
Answers:
Yes, 41 minutes is fairly short.
  1. John Paul II
  2. No idea what the question means
  3. You mean the succession of Matthias into the office vacated by Judas? You know that James was not one of the twelve.

Yeah the Judas that, you know, killed himself after betraying Judas  Kinda an amazing overlooking of Scripture there.

But I'm sure you'll have another conspiracy theory to spout off about that again too :)

If it's not Simon Magus whom Peter rebuked, and it's not Judas who was quite well dead during the times of the early days of the Church....then you're begininng to run out of names to toss out to support the conspiracy :D

No accident theory is being discussed either. It's called studying ACTUAL history rather then a book from a dubious prophet that was wrong on far more then the Jesuits...unless the Millerite group, which white belonged to can be proven to have occured like the group of millerites that broke away and thus became the SDA said.

Which, wouldn't that be as much of a bit of secret knowledge as anything you are trying to accuse the RCC of?

I just noticed a typo in my rebuttal

TO clarify, so I don't add to the conspiracy Judas killed himself after betraying Jesus.
I bet somewhere in all this it will turn out that Judas was a Jesuit :p

This thread has undergone a small clean up.

As a reminder, the site rules include:

Flaming and Harassment
● Please treat all members with respect and courtesy through civil dialogue. Refrain from insulting, inflammatory, or goading remarks. When you disagree, remember to address the content of the post and not the poster personally.
● If you are flamed, do not respond in-kind. Alert staff to the situation by utilizing the report button.
● Stating or implying that another member or group of members who have identified themselves as Christian are not Christian is not allowed.
● Be considerate and do not make another member's experience on this site miserable. This includes making false accusations or persistently attacking them in the open forums.
● Respect another member's request to cease personal contact.

Handling Disagreements

Members who participate in the General Theology forums are expected to treat one another with courtesy and respect at all times, ESPECIALLY when you disagree with each other. It is not a flame for a member to disagree with another member's argument or opinion on a specific topic.
  • When you disagree, address the content of the post and not the poster.
  • When you disagree with someone's position, you should post evidence and supporting statements for your position. This policy, sometimes referred to as "X means Y because of Z", must be followed especially when posting claims that are widely considered to be controversial.
  • When you disagree and you find yourself becoming frustrated and angry, step away from the computer and give yourself time to cool down.
  • Always proofread your post before hitting the "Reply" button to make sure you have responded with courtesy and respect.

Please keep it civil.

You just had to say it, didn't you? :p
Perhaps as an anti-type of him.
I doubt a Jesuit would do what Judas did to himself in Acts :p

Act 1:18
(With the reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out.
19 Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)

Entirely posiible I would imagine, if I gave it some serious thought, but serious thought isn't what motivates using these terms for mockery.

Your use of the term "ACTUAL" is hollow rhetoric.
I never read anything by Ms. White.

History is (in general) either the outcome of SOMEone's plans, or an unplanned (accidental) outcome. If it ain't one, by default is is the other.
You advocate accident by default, which is patently false in the face of the conspiracy for good, between the members of the Trinity.
