  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why are most christians against asylum seekers?

Is satire really appropriate here when so much has happened?

53 million babies died. A shooting where 50 died and then it being blasted on the news is satire in and of itself.

Our society is a sick joke, so I'd prefer not the guilt trips about how selling some skewed perspective of reality where 50 lives are worth more than millions of lives dying around the world every day is somehow what we should focus on or care about for more than 5 minutes. If they were your family, I get it. It's important.

But I have people in my family that died of the corruption of this world, and their lives were cut short, and I don't bother making news programs about it or pretending like the event was more important than other people who suffer.

So I basically reject the entire basis upon which western society views itself, it's a ludicrous fraud.

Also, Christians are too afraid of ISIS. Real Christians would march into Syria and die preaching the gospel. They would not cower in fear, when a whole ocean separates them from the enemy, and they have the world's strongest military backing their government. That people have one fretful moment shows they fail to believe God about what the Bible says Psalm 91.

I respect your passion. When does your plane leave? May God protect you on your journey to Syria. The calling of missionary is one that resonates from the heart of the believer as a whisper first. The holy spirit being a subtle voice enticing attention to his desire for that one in whom he dwells. When that whisper becomes so loud that the reality of the believer points in signs and symbols sent by God as if compass markers pointing to the path of deliverer of the word it is time to choose. The way of one's own desires. Or the spreading of God's good news to those whom he directs us to meet.

I wish you every blessing on your journey. God's speed . May his Angels light your path.

I agree, on both points. What I'm posting here is certainly my opinion. Judge it for yourself absolutely.

I did and determined it to be bovine skubulon.

One of the points I was trying to make, though, is that what nations do isn't what we, as set apart followers of God, are to do.

That's because there are different roles for nations and individuals.

This is another example of my opinion but it seems to me that the overwhelming message of God is that we're to show compassion and mercy. I can't think of any examples where we are told to decide, based on self interest or risk to ourselves, who to extend compassion and help to or when to do it.

And the only way you can think of to show compassion and mercy is at the expense of America and Americans like my family and neighbors?

Yeah, cause they are not taking over, that's why. I'm very aware of what the muslim extremists are doing. That's not the same as TAKING OVER A COUNTRY.
Relax drama kings.

They haven't reached the numbers yet for the third stage
of jihad, but they are getting close in some contries.

I think it would be foolish to preach the gospel to ISIS in Syria. Instead, they deserve bullets in their heads.

Ha! Go across the ocean to preach? Good luck. You can't even convince the posters here to show kindness to muslim refugees IN AMERICA, or to even INVITE them...they wouldn't have to leave their own country; not even their own city! The idea of preaching to muslims when you can't even show them the compassion to want to keep them safe, seems like a unattainable panacea.

You're talking about a fear of going into the lion's den when right wing america is afraid of being in the wide open, lush meadows under the watchful eye of our Shepard. Let's baby step the challenges, I'd say.

How does Mr.Trump propose identifying the Muslims that seek entry? Are they to self-identify? Are they to be identified by their country of origin? Profiling?

Yes, of course. The question is, would those of ill intention tell the truth? If the truth would prohibit them entry so as to carry out their intent?

Why it seems most Christians are against asylum seekers? For the political parties most Chrisitans support are the parties who are are openly stating to deport asylum seekers and even refuse to accomodate people that have fled their own countries due to war and persecution. Anyway Jesus Christ himself was a refugee.
Did you find any evidence that the political parties speak for most Christians ?

Basically, what we have here, is that old
"WHICH CAME FIRST....the Chicken or the Egg" QUESTION

Like the doctors that push meds that are deadly / don't work
or maybe even PLACEBO, when the 'real-thing' may be required
for the cash they receive from Pharma (?)
They wouldn't, would-they ?

Not all immigrants ARE truly Asylum seekers
What about looking at these situations, literally
and, with a view-to TREATING THE CAUSES
rather than ameliorating the symptoms and disabilities, in-situ

It is pretty-obvious, to onlookers, that these PROBLEMS appear
'out of the blue'
to distract you while they, pick your pocket & purse
for more than can leave you 'comfortable'

There are many ways to form a W of M Distraction

Do you deserve Christ's mercy?
