Why would you want to do that? It is not mental acuity that is at issue in the operation of an automobile but reaction time and control. A contract requires a meeting of the minds.
Well its hard to have a 'meeting of the minds' if they are drunk as skunks and stinking up the joint as they slide under the tables......![]()
Are you speaking as a lawyer or as a layperson? And since the mind is impaired when under the influence of alcohol ...
It is how the symbol is being used; we're not using it to make a profit off of it, nor do I suspect that most of those who use it do so to decieve others as to their true beliefs.
The opinons of medical doctors and scientists are not binding before the law. They must pass the threshold. No relevance. Medical doctors and scientists have made the observation.
But now in the new Adventist forum, there will be no problems as the moderaters will be on you like Mequiers Wax on a shiny corvette.......![]()
Here the only parties who could potentially be violating terms of use related to the logo as an icon would be CF.
It only plays the part that CF wants it to play. This is a agreement between CF and its members. CF does not require official denominational validation of anyone's claims to be authorized to use the icon. What part does it REALLY play in one's identification.........?
you would be correct.... and there are many who engage in the behavior you have described, as well as have that attitude...Some people need to define themselves by a label. That is not a problem in and of itself. Where it gets divisive is when they need to use that label and all that it means to them as a ruler by which to judge others who desire to wear that same label. That, in my opinion, is simply a manifestation of a deep bigotry that sullies the true meaning of the symbol.

I wholeheartedly agree that it is likely that most of those who do use it are not doing so to deceive others as to their true beliefs. However, the icon is a symbol of an organization of beliefs. Use of the icon is a privilege for those who stand by those beliefs and are willing to represent themselves as agents of such an organization.
When such a privileged person does not maintain those standards, he essentially violates his "contract" which allowed him to wear it.
Point well taken. Even so, the Yankees likely do not have a policy regarding the wearing of their team logo. There is too much commercialism tied up in MLB for them to establish such a standard. I'm fairly certain that wearing the team logo while on the field does carry certain obligations.
The Seventh-day Adventist organization does have such a policy, however. Anyone who chooses to wear one in the "field" might do well to adhere to their standards. Is it out of line to assume anyone wearing a religious logo is a "team member"?
Anyone in need of a new uniform? Try: Adventist Witness Wear
Now, of course they're not going to hunt anyone down wearing the logo if they sin or are being hypocritical. Agreed.
But please, if you're going to do something really awful--don't get caught doing it while wearing Adventist garb. People do take notice.
