Why Adventist need not be ashamed, and wear their Adventist icon in the forum!

When I came here, I had been at the original Adventist Forum back in the day, on a friends computer and did not like the arguing that went on in there. So when I came to CF I was shocked at the full scale battle royal going on in here and didnt want to even be associated with such a ugly row...

Well, IMO, things are changing for the better, I am so happy with the improvement that I finally felt I could wear my Adventist icon and not be ashamed of the behaviour. I am so glad many are talking and discussion instead of fighting and bashing and I know we are much better off spiritually.....

I think everyone that was baptized should set aside their differences and put on the Adventist icon especially with everyone soon or already coming in from all different denominations. Its going to get real confusing with everyone and it would be nice if we could all wear the Adventist icon at least on the basis of baptism......

When I first joined, I didn't see the Adventist icon. Besides I wanted to really post in other denominations' forums until I was told not to.

I would probably never wear that icon with an open book, a flame and a cross in the middle. I'd gladly wear the original Three Angels' icon.

Personally, the three angels icon is a little before my time. It also gives me the impression that the job of spreading the message is in the hands of the angels--but the charge was given to humans, was it not?

Here we go. Does anyone else see it coming? The inevitable, preposterous claim that the new logo is fraught with New Age spiritualism, a sinister and devious agenda on the part of the Jesuit-infiltrated GC to do away with the three angels message. Those wavy lines are evil, don't you know?

I wouldn't think that at all. No new age conspiracy thoughts here. It's a symbol. What it represents is clear on the website I'd posted a link to earlier. The three angels message is still in the forefront of Adventist belief.

I wonder, for instance, why would there be a need to have a sub-forum within a forum of "like-minded" believers?

I wonder if one or both of the sda forums are ill informed?

Seems that to be "governed" under an "icon" in a forum and then willingly divide it said forum is very much an oxymoron....

Why the division?

What DOES the icon really mean?

What difference does it make?

HOW does the icon affect the soul?

What part does it REALLY play in one's identification.........?

The problem lies in the fact that some people who are happy with the Adventist church, and being Adventists (Or do not know of another church they would rather be in) have come to the desicion that they do not believe in all of the 28 fundamental beliefs of the Adventist church.

Thusly, we're divided into sub-forums so that those who disagree on certain things don't have to be in constant battle with those who do believe it. It's a way of keeping the peace, without kicking anyone out.

By the way, I completely repect any Progressive or Evangelic Adventist that has come to their beliefs because they have found proof for themselves one way or another. I believe that if you're sure that the Spirit is guiding you to a new revelation, you should follow it with your whole heart. Whether it's truth or not is not my place to judge, because we are all on our own journey with Christ and thusly are in different places.

This comment made me think of this reality..... The church "progressed" from the 3 flying angels logo(and well they should have since there are 6 angels in Rev 14) and adopted the open bible with a flame logo and some people think they should have kept the 3 angels logo....

Is it possible that some people will never make progress or change their views regardless of the information presented to them? Could it be that some of us are like the jews of old who just could not believe that Jesus was the messiah, and as such preferred to remain in their traditions?

The icon change represents a change of theology. The Three Angels represent our unique endtime message. The open book, flame and a cross conveys a generic message that attempts to conform and to be accepted into the main stream christianity.

IT is ONLY a graphic folks.......

NO amount of little pictures and or charachitures (sp?) will EVER truly nor fully represent any ONE GROUP of folk.....

While folk are adding to thier blessing counts here....

REAL important issues are being missed...
