I'm okay with it being a joke (about Conklin) but I've seen some pretty vicious things said on another message board (about weight loss no less) and the inevitable "LOL" or "J/K" at the end of it.

Maybe we should all just work on being less sensitive?

You know, I have never once hit the report button. Maybe I'm too passive, myself..but it takes a lot for me to consider something to be in need of an actual "report".

By the way, where is this area you guys are seeing the reports from? *feeling rather dorky* I've looked..and not found.

I've seen the "Lol" and "jk" things so many times, including while chatting to friends. I use them myself..but there are cases where it's just taken too far. Some things are just not funny, but sadly I think humor has gone into a different direction today than it used to be. Just look at the late night shows..making fun of people is funny? Since when?

I somehow doubt Jesus would have enjoyed that kind of humer, eh?

Now back on track (for the next while, anyway. )

I really prefer SDA moderators over non-SDA moderators in the SDA main forum and sub-forums.

I think we all do, Daryl. Problem is there aren't enough Adventists that seem to want the job. It wont be fair on poor Doc if he ends up being one of the only Mods, especially with all the new rules we'll be making.

If it turns out that we don't end up with many, I'll do my best to try and find the time to become one in a little while. Still, though...

Okay, so currently we have a couple possibilites up in the air.

Does IceDragon still want to be mod? I know we went into a dicussion about some of the things he said, but I don't recall him changing his standing on this. If he does, we need to get a poll and question thread set up right away. It's a 7 day process and needs to be started on.

Ice, if you see this let us know, k?

Also, Reddog. Are you willing, considering all those who have declined? We could really use you. Let us know and we'll get the ball rolling, and if not we're going to need to start looking into other options.

Oh, and by any chance anyone know of anyone else who might want to be Mod/would make a good one? This is the time to speak up!!!

I don't think people expected we'd have such a tough job getting mods. It's sad how many declined because of the state of this board itself, rather than just being busy. I think that really says a lot about us as "Christians" and that we really need to re-evaluate ourselves, no?

If Doc's voted in and we run out of help, we will have to look for others beyond the Adventists, I guess. =\

I didn't say "all" declined for that reason, I said many.

Still, it is related to the state of the board, is it not? Christians should love thy neighbour. Disliking someone does not fall into this. THis board is very divided at the moment, between both groups and individuals. Thusly it's going to be quite the chore to moderate. If it was more of a positive fellowship more people would be jumping at the chance.

Those poor mods. For every one they cross off, 5 more come rolling in. It's like the Spartans in 300 fighting wave after wave of Persians to no avail.

I don't know where else to post this so I'll post it here (sorry Sarah...err, I mean mom).

I'd really like to see a "My Conversion Story" sticky where people can tell how they came to Christ. Out of any other subject, that is the one that fascinates me the most and I can't read a conversion story without crying.

Every conversion story I've ever heard seems to indicate that people (at least most) come to God through a tragedy. When they realize they really DON'T have control over their lives, and submit to the will of God.

When you hear these types of stories, it's a lot easier to answer the "why would God allow.........." question.

Who can I ask to hook us up with a sticky thread for this?
