1 John 2:15-17New King James Version (NKJV)
Do Not Love the World
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Do you have actual data to support your claim? I have actual data that humans are getting less violent and "kinder and gentler".

"It seems pretty clear to me that, in the west at least we are making progress at becoming more humane. Do you realize that public torture was common in Europe a few hundred years ago. Now, it is unheard of. And if someone so much as slaps their cat, public outrage ensues. Donald Trump aside, I also think racism is clearly on the way out. I suggest it is fairly clear that, on the while, humanity is getting kinder and gentler."

At the start of your comment, you said "it seems pretty clear to me". How is that "actual data"? And all you ever said that was even remotely considered "actual data" was the public torture in Europe **a few hundred years ago**. The reason its unheard of now is 1. it was very long ago 2. There are current concerns going on such as ISIS, murder, suicide, numerous deaths in 2016, sexual assault, etc. (obviously i didn't state them all). And racism still exists. Even slavery, as I previously mentioned. And you said at the end of the comment "it is fairly clear that on the while, humanity is getting kinder and gentler". You didn't even prove that in your comments. (Btw to answer your question, no I do not have actual data; I read and watch the news)

Before the Big Boom - There dwelt...

1. The God head - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
2. Three groups of angels...
___a. Michael - Strong Angels
___b. Gabriel - Wise Angels
___c. Lucifer - Worshiping angels
3. There may have been others that I know not of.

And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: - Genesis 3:22

As in the previous scripture good and evil were known before the creation. There are probably long tales that could go along with this that I do not know of.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! - Isaiah 14:12

Lucifer - heylel in the Hebrew (light bearer) from halal - Or to shine
***Note as this is a Hebrew word it is not a king of Babylon

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth. - Revelation 12:3-4

Lucifer means Light Bearer in the Hebrew, it has no Babylonian meaning... Read up!
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.- 2 Corinthians 11:14

Angel of light... Light bearer... He was a light bearer in heaven. He was not known as Satan or the Devil back before his fall.

I would say, though, that this universe, and all 8 trillion or so galaxies, came into existence and was created for Lucifer after his fall. But his time is short and pretty soon God is going to take back what is his and so something else with the energy and light that went into the creation of the universe.

This world is not getting better. Just look at the hatred and dissension between political parties. Sure, maybe its not always violent, but its dissension none the less. Dissension is a work of flesh. Satan would have us believe this dissension is ok, but its not. It doesnt glorify God.
In fact, the world is only going to get worse. It is getting worse. We can live in LaLa land if we want, but the Messiah isn't coming back until after tribulation. And in order for the tribulation to get here, things must get worse. The world won't be holding hands and singing Kumbayah until he gets here

It's just not realistic to think things are getting better.

I agree with you. However, it doesn't mean that there isn't no hope. Praying to God and following His word will save you.

I sometimes wonder whether God or Satan is currently in control of this world.

Let me give just one example: A famine in Africa. We’ve all seen the pictures on TV of people starving to death; even children. Now we could say that this is all man’s fault because if everyone worked together on the continent of Africa, it could be one of the wealthiest continents on the planet. Think about it – Africa has precious minerals like gold, diamonds, a desert area where sunshine could be turned into electricity, wetter areas to grow crops, wonderful beaches and game reserves for tourists, oil for fuel and so on. But instead of working together for the common good, we see corruption, fighting, barbarity in the name of a god called “Allah”, etc. So we could put the blame 100% on man’s actions. But what about if a significant cause could be attributed to lack of rainfall. It begs the question, why doesn’t God at least send rain to help people grow their crops and feed themselves? Or is Satan being allowed to wreak even more misery that he has already done since the fall of creation? Or (third option), is the planet running on autopilot and as such, these things are bound to happen? Has anyone any ideas on this that they could share?
Satan is supposedly allowed to do only what God permits. I have serious doubts about it being for our own good & to glorify God. As time passes, new humans are born. IF God is waiting for as many people as possible to come to him for salvation, then the clock & newborns are cancelling out the desired outcome. "The gracious role of suffering in the life of the saint..." is advanced as the rationale for Jesus not having come again. I don't quite get it either.

Satan waters down the evil in this world, he would have us think its getting better, but its only getting watered down so its more acceptable.

Oh ok, that makes more sense. It would've been better to add that before, in your first comment.

I've heard in some places they don't even have clean drinking water, because human waste is dumped everywhere.
But Bill Gates could make everyone there have clean drinking water and still have more than half his money.
Me and my wife are disabled, so I'm not able to do anything, but if you do give to anything go to give.org it will tell you if at least half of your money goes where it should, there's no other way to know that I know of.
