And is it your 'superior free will' that mocks others?
I don't think free will makes me superior.
I sin every day, and am trusting in Jesus to save me.
Every day I'm thankful that God is a loving God and gives to all the opportunity to be saved.

God knew some would choose before anyone else knew about it.

unlimited free will is the root of boasting .

slaved or captive free will prevents boasting.

those that don't know just yap about unlimited free will cause everyone else is yapping about it.

pack of wolves or
blind leads blind.

both falls into the ditch thinking they could freely sprout wings and fly

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV)...accept the GIFT!
For it is by Grace you have been Saved, through (spirit-led) Faith (/ Belief)
—and this (faith) not from yourselves, it is the Gift of God
— not by "works", so that no one can boast.
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.

John 1:12,14 (NIV)...Receive...Believe
Yet to all who RECEIVED him,
to those who BELIEVED in His name, (Jesus the Christ)
He gave the right to become CHILDREN of God...
The Word (logos) became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only,(Jesus)
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 3 (NIV)...Jesus teaches Nicodemus...extracts...BELIEVE...BORN AGAIN
...“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is BORN AGAIN( spiritually from above)
he cannot see the kingdom of God.”...
'You must be BORN AGAIN(spiritually).' (from above)
The wind blows wherever it pleases.
You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.
So it is with everyone BORN of the Spirit....(God the Holy Spirit)
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert,
so the Son of Man must be lifted up, (Jesus crucified?)
that everyone who BELIEVES in him may have ETERNAL LIFE...

Acts 16: 30-31 (NIV)...BELIEVE
Paul and Silas...He (jailor) then brought them out and asked,
"Sirs, what must I do to be SAVED?" (spiritually)
They replied, "BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus, and you WILL be saved
—you and your household."

Romans 10: ...CALL
13 for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

John 6:44
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.

1 Corinthians 2:10
For to us God revealed them through the Spirit;
for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

God's Job: spirtually DRAW / CALL Man's Spirit.
He wants ALL to ACCEPT His gracious invitation to salvation....1 Timothy 2:1-6 (4-5) (NASB)...2 Peter 3:9

John 12: 30-33...Jesus Foretells His Death to UN-believers
Jesus answered (crowds) and said,
“This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sakes.
Now judgment is upon this world;
now the ruler of this world WILL BE cast out.(devil)
And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, WILL DRAW all men to Myself.”

Man's JOB:
1. ACCEPT God's gracious invitation to salvation.
OR
2. Truly seek God with a willing spirit and CALL...KNOCK...SEEK

Romans 10: ...CALL
13 for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:12 ...CALL
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek;
for the same Lord is Lord of all,
abounding in riches for all who call on Him;

Matthew 7:7-8 [ Prayer and the Golden Rule ] ..Sermon on the Mount
“Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.
For EVERYONE who asks receives, and
he who seeks finds, and
to him who knocks it will be opened.

1 Chronicles 28:9
“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father,
and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind;
for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts.
If you SEEK Him, He will let you find Him;
but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

Man SPIRITUALLY CHOOSES whether he wants to be a "child of God" (saved believer)...or...NOT.

God spiritually calls/draws/knocks to ALL.
EACH Man's spirit must accept or reject.

Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that
I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse.
So CHOOSE LIFE in order that you may live, you and your descendants,

1 Chronicles 28:9...KING David to wise son Solomon
“As for you, my son Solomon,
know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind;
for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts.
If you seek Him, He will let you find Him;
but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

John 3:36...John the Baptizer on Jesus: CHOOSE
1. He who believes in the Son has eternal life; (BELIEVER)
but
2.he who does not obey (TO BELIEVE IN!) the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God abides on him.” (UN-BELIEVER)

John 1
11 He came to that which was His own, but His own did NOT receive Him.
12 Yet to all who DID receive him,
to those who BELIEVED in his name, he gave the right to become "children of God"
— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but "born of God"

Revelation 3:20...CHOOSE!
Behold, I stand at the door and knock;
if anyone hears My voice and opens the door,
I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

I would say Yahweh God saved me, it took working on me in various ways until my response with repentant faith was right, because of what Jesus Christ came for and did for us.

These things are all right. Without God we are indeed nothing, and would never accomplish ongoing life for any of us. These are excellent verses to show that, while only Yahweh accomplishes that we have eternal life with Christ, coming to him, we have response needed that we who do choose, for that, thanks for that collection, Ron Gurley. Yahweh indeed calls to us to choose. But it is true we would never do so from our capacity but only with Yahweh's work with us. Scriptures do not show that is irresistible though.

I am not sure of certainty of scripture basis for various of the Calvinist points. But in particular the irresistible grace of God with which people are saved, that is claimed, has no basis in scriptures that I ever find. So I don't have basis to reinterpret what is shown from the second epistle of Peter that God is not willing that any should perish, but would that all come to repentance with which there is salvation. That any don't is their own fault with their choices. Yahweh gives grace for the ability to respond with repentant faith for salvation, but this grace isn't shown anywhere to be irresistible.

Good Day, Fred

I can understand what you are saying...

You may find this helpful, if you open in thread in "ask a calvinist" I would be more than happy to interact with you.

I have a little bit of a problem using the term irresistible grace, not because I don’t believe this classical doctrine, but because it is misleading to many people. Therefore, I prefer the term effectual grace, because the irresistible grace of God effects what God intends it to effect.

We are told do things, and to choose, for God, in the scriptures. If God just unconditionally elected any of us, there would not be the need for all the passages with emphasis to choose. We should choose, and should choose rightly, but saying we don't really choose and it is all God's doing, when God yet says choose, in the Bible, is really secondguessing God.

Question: "What does it mean that God draws us to salvation?"

Answer:
The clearest verse on God’s drawing to salvation is John 6:44 where Jesus declares that “no one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.” The Greek word translated “draw” is helkuo, which means “to drag” (literally or figuratively). Clearly, this drawing is a one-sided affair. God does the drawing to salvation; we who are drawn have a passive role in the process. There is no doubt that we respond to His drawing us, but the drawing itself is all on His part.

Good day, Fred

No one deny's a choice is needed there is a thread that is digging in to that.

How does a fallen human nature choose Christ?
