CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No, similar to love, thoughts, death, etc., you can't see it or weigh it or anything like that. As I suspected, you do not accept the Bible/God's word for it, so if you have no belief in the Bible it is virtually impossible to convince you that people have souls or even to explain to you what it is. It's like trying to explain calculus to someone who can't add.

The Hebrew word nephesh, traditionally translated "living soul" but more properly understood as "living creature," is the same word used for all breathing creatures and refers to nothing immortal.

So you asked a skewed hypothetical question, trying to get people to agree with you that "humans are more valuable than other animals" and now you're unhappy that some people still don't share your view on the matter?
Obviously, none of us would actually kill anything in Avatar's basement in Real Life (I hope *wink*).
Why is it so upsetting to you that some others don't believe humans are innately more valuable than chimpanzees?
