Yeah...so Ocasio-Cortez said some people (apparently "a huge amount of the donor class and a huge amount of these elites, and a huge amount of these folks in these rooms that I see") wanted a different ticket back in July, before Biden dropped out of the race.

Let's see... Someone said there were people who would prefer a different candidate than Biden or Harris, but when Harris became the actual nominee, they decided to support her anyway, rather than support Donald Trump instead.

What's hypocritical about that? Who's being gaslit?

Many voters start an election season hoping for one candidate, but when their candidate doesn't become the party nominee, they still decide to support the actual nominee, even if it isn't the one they'd have preferred. Nothing unusual there, happens for many voters in pretty much every election the US has ever had. Heck, the same can be said for Nicky Haley: she once would have preferred being the nominee herself, but now that she isn't, she supports Donald Trump, the actual nominee. Same difference.

Seems to me you've got some buzzwords working for ya, but without any substance behind them.

Sometimes, people vote for the lesser of two evils. I've no doubt many people voting for Harris don't consider her fantastic, or the best of all possible candidates...just the better of two when compared to Donald Trump. When faced with one of two (realistic) choices, sometimes you go with the one you dislike the least.

I think you're overestimating Harris popularity, or perhaps misunderstanding it. I don't believe there are many people out there who think Kamala Harris is the greatest politician in all of history. Sure, there's enthusiasm, but that can be attributed to a resurgence of support following Biden's perceived infirmity and the real possibility of his losing to Trump. Now, the issue of age and perceived infirmity isn't a factor for Democrats, and as a result, Harris is surging ahead in the polls. Optimism, not gaslighting.

For many Democrats, who would rather see anyone else in office than Donald Trump, Harris has a better chance of winning that it seemed Biden had. That's enough for many voters, and they'll vote accordingly come November.

I think you're looking at Democrats as being the same as the MAGA faithful. There are a lot of people who pretty much worship Donald Trump, and fall for his delusions and lies. They wear MAGA hats, they sport Trump-themed t-shirts and sneakers, they buy his NFTs and pieces of his suit. For them, Trump is the second coming. Democrats aren't like that. We don't worship our candidates. We didn't worship Joe Biden, we didn't worship Barak Obama...heck, we didn't worship FDR either. (Okay, I remember more than a few homes here in Massachusetts that had a picture of the pope right next to a picture of JFK, but that was different.)

Personally, I would vote for a cheese sandwich instead of Trump...and both Biden and Harris are better candidates in my mind than he is. I don't consider either of them perfect, nor do I think either of them are "fantastic." I'll admit to being cautiously optimistic about Harris, in a way I wasn't about Biden this time around, but that's about it. In the end, she's better than Trump, and that's enough to earn my vote. If she proves to be a good president on her own, well, that's gravy.

Boy you misread that article. AOC does not say *she* wants Harris off the ticket, she says that the people who want Biden removed in conversations she is hearing *also* want Harris removed. At the time of the article (2 days before Biden withdrew), Rep. AOC was still backing Biden remaining on the ticket as the article makes clear.

No I didn’t you miss represented what I said. A2SG and I were talking about democrats wanting Kamala off the ticket, I quoted A2SG saying: “A2SG never heard that one “ then i posted the article of Cortez talking about democrats wanting Kamala off the ticket. I didn’t say Cortez said anything I just posted the article. Hans you don’t always have a serious rebuttal but you do try real hard to come up with one. Points for that I guess.

Maybe a cheese sandwich would actually come up with a platform and face a sympathetic press which Kamala can’t seem to handle. Now she wants to change the rules she goaded Trump into agreeing to. Trump wanted to renegotiate since she is the new candidate she refused now she wants to renegotiate since she is the new candidate and she needs notes so she doesn’t fall completely flat in the debate. Tulsi Gabbard made Kamala look like that cheese sandwich and so will Trump if the debate even happens. IMO of course many of those who prefer a cheese sandwich have actually been gaslighted.
