While I agree we have a responsibility to allies to assist them with various things (depending on what it is) we do not have the responsibility to the whole world. It comes with the territory. If you have the largest and strongest economy in the world and have an armed services on which you spend more than the next ten countries combined, if you see yourself as a beacon of democratic values (stop sniggering up the back - it's mostly true) then you have what is called a 'responsibility' to your allies and friends.
We aren't imperialist so we are not taking over countries and foisting our democratic values on everyone. We don't have any responsibility to anyone but our allies. Just cause the rest of the world wants to tax themsleves heavily and use that money for their own benefits and not use it for their own defense we have no responsibility to be their defense. They should build their own armies.
Yes it needs a lot of people. But a lot of people aren't doing it. NATO countries didn't start paying their share until Trump.Keeping the world safe needs a lot of people doing the right thing and standing shoulder to shoulder against tyranny. And likewise poverty. One of the reasons why so many in the world are hoping that Harris wins. We want the US to be strong for everyone's sake. Not just yours.
Poverty? What, now America is responsible for solving the world's poverty problems? How much money is Australia spending on the world's poverty issues?
