I'll definitely agree with you on Tool, APC (as you can tell from my user name ), and Smashing Pumpkins.

Other favs: Radiohead, Modest Mouse, DCFC, Counting Crows, Muse, Ben Folds, DJ Shadow, Soul Coughing/Mike Doughty, and The Arcade Fire. I could probably go on forever listing bands I like.
