What is your defense? (Part 1)
• “But Zion said, Jehovah has forsaken me, and my LORD has forgotten me. Can a woman forget her suckling child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have carved you on the palms of My hands; your walls are forever before Me.” (Isa 49:14-16).
When we are undergoing some probation, our propensity is to think that we were forsaken by the Creator and that, henceforth, we need to build big walls to encumber people to harm or hurt us. Nonetheless, it is these artificial protections that make us cold, brutish and lonely and, consequently, mope.
With the succor of the Creator, pull down the walls that you contrived and allow that He can be your defense (a firewall around you – see Zechariah 2:5) through His attributes that are our true defensive arms:
• “Therefore take to yourselves the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Eph 6:13)
*The first weapon*= truth (Eph 6:14). Our loins (where is our belly) ought to be protected by the truth. That is to say, our desires, instead of making us to break off with people around us (James 4:1-4), ought to be infused in the truth so that we can focus on the true treasure which, put in the right place (in Jesus’ presence), can keep our heart and feelings in Christ Jesus (Matthew 6:19-21).
*The second weapon *= the righteousness (Eph 6:14). Our chest (where are our heart and organs responsible for our breathing) ought to be protected by Jesus’ justice. Instead of being misled by our sense of justice (which we never ought to have – Genesis 3:17), we ought to breathe the justice of the Creator’s kingdom and allow that this circles in our veins. After all, as citizens of Jesus’ kingdom, we need to walk as He walked (Phil 3:20; 1Jo 2:6).
*The third weapon*= preparation of the gospel of peace (Eph 6:15). These shoes make the feet of Christ’s Bride very beautiful (see Songs 7:1) and able to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the authority of the enemy in a way that nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).
Therefore, let’s prepare the gospel that reconciliate us with the Creator (2Cor 5:18-20), namely, praying and going over the Holy Scripture so that our word can be always pleasant and seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6), a true medicine to the soul, body and spirit (Prov 3:7,8; 4:22; 16:24; Isaiah 33:24; James 5:13-16).
Hence the Holy Scripture to say:
• “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, making peace heard; who brings good news, making salvation heard; who says to Zion, Your God reigns!” (Isaiah 52:7);
• “And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!" (Romans 10:15).
So, have a nice day aspiring the truth, living the justice, having the heart prepared (Ezra 7:9,10; Isaiah 40:3) to announce the good news of the peace that Jesus established between us and the One Who created us and, of course, preaching it for wherever Jesus make us to walk.
Tomorrow we will carry on.
