Nothing that is historically accurate in the Bible proves that God exists. There is no evidence for the claims (as you yourself put it) that Jesus made, you (and all Christians) chose to believe them. There is no archaeological evidence of a single miracle or act of God described in the Bible. There is no evidence for water being turned into wine. No evidence for resurrections.

There are a lot of things in the Iliad (by Homer) that are historically accurate. Does that make Greek mythology the truth? There are just as many historical accuracies in the Bible as there are in the Quran.

You are one of several people posting on this subject who fall foul of the very thing you're arguing against.

You say there is no evidence for miracles, the resurrection, the claims of Christ and so on, but you yourself provide nothing of substance to support this claim.

Instead of saying "there is no evidence..." what you need to say "the evidence for the resurrection of Christ can be proven to be false because of........x/y/z".

This is same for all of your other claims. Back them up / explain your understanding, your sources and so on.
How can any of this be discussed in any useful way if you just make a claim with no justification?

Then, you've also said "There are just as many historical accuracies in the Bible as there are in the Quran."

So provide examples? Show me that there are the same number of historical accuracies in the Quran.
And when we talk about accuracies, you need to be careful to reference your sources to corroborate with the Quran.

Once we reach this position, we can discuss original texts versus manuscripts, discuss non-Islamic and non-Christian sources. We also need to apply the historical method to analyse each respective texts authenticity (see reference - A Guide to Historical Method by Gilbert J. Garraghan, Jean Delanglez)

But throw away remarks such as yours are pointless unless you can talk about what basis they are actually made on.

QV please:

1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

This is pretty self-explanatory, and notice what company Paul says [prescient] evolution keeps company with?

Paul is referring to the arguments between Matt 1 and Luke 3 where two different lines were traced by early christians tryiong to justify that Jesus was from the house of David.

We can easily see that they both fail to do so.
But it is also apparent that these christians were revisiting the medium of the Hands as a record of genealogy used by the Levite priest in what was the Urim and Thummim of the hand blessing.

Why in the world would I have to need to provide evidence that something did not happen? The burden of proof is with the person that claims that something did happen.

Even in the legal system, "the necessity of proof always lies with the person who lays charges". Ever heard of innocent until proven guilty? Or in other words, nothing happened until someone proved it did.

So Genesis and evolution do mix?

And for the record, I've been saying that here for six years; so when someone else says it too, okay with you if I give a thumbsup?

No, Genesis and evolution do not mix. That is not what you gave the thumbs up for. You gave the thumbs up for someone that is saying that nothing in evolution is remotely near being correct. I've seen you say many other times that you "believe" in micro-evolution, what goes against what the other poster was saying.

Yet so many people turn their back on science and reject the parts of the Bible that Science can verify is true. I can understand people who do not accept the things that science can not verify or test.

The parts of the Bible that are historically accurate have nothing to do with the existence of God. It would be like saying that Greek mythology is true because some parts of the Iliad of Homer are historically accurate.

The problem with your position, mdancin4thelord, is that you make the bible, and thus Christianity fasifiable. If its a case of a literal Genesis or evolution, then you make your whole religion wrong. The fact is the earth is not young, it was not created in 6 literal days and there was no global flood. Your choices are at this point to give up on Christianity or accept the bible as not a literal science text and carry on as you were. Hopefully you will go with the latter.

Six days to God might be something different...I do not know and I don't care.
I believe the Bible as the Word of God everything in it....everything. I believe all the miracles did happen...and guess what.......that even Jesus walked on water.
I will never give up on Christ.....never. I would die to defend His name. This you can't possibly fathom...but I would. But then you do not have the Holy Spirit..so you don't get what I am talking about.

I would encourage you to read about Christ and why He came...to save the lost.

You know why do you nonbelievers, pagans...atheists, agnostics....why are you so darn mean? I mean geeze....I get a simple thumbs up....and you have to call him on it? Are you that miserable in your life that you have to nit pick?

I appreciate the thumbs up...we don't have to agree on everything......but when someone makes a point that you agree with there is nothing wrong with acknowledging that statement. This is nothing more than a game to you. I would bet that you have a chart next to your computer and you tabulate graph style what everyone says...and keep track. LOL

Most of you hate believers thats for sure.

Sorry, I like consistency, especially from AV (as he requires the same from us). I bet he would call me if I gave the thumbs up to a creationist. Oh, and as far as all that name calling, I believe you can put everyone of those that you mention in one category: infidels.

I can [unfortunately] take this a step lower, sis.

Even when we do agree with these guys, it means nothing to them.

I've agreed with these guys, even against what my own pastor says; and it means not a thing to these guys.

It's not that they don't like us for what we believe; it's that they don't like us for what we are.

On the contrary AV, it means so much that you agree with me, that when you give the thumbs up to a person saying something that doesn't agree with the one thing that we both agree with (micro-evolution), I call you on it.

I thought you were paying a little more attention to my posts, because I said repeatedly that I not only respect your beliefs, but also respect who you are. I am not here to convert anybody. Please, don't put words in my mouth. What I don't respect is creationists blatantly misleading people to "prove" evolution wrong. All I see in 100% of the creationist websites out there is lies and misinformation, and that I do not respect, no matter what religion it is coming from.

This is where I gave the thumbs up:
I stand on what I said....Genesis and evolution do not mix.
I gave that remark a thumbsup; mainly because I have been saying that here for five and a half years now.

Genesis and evolution do not mix.

My misunderstanding then, I stand corrected. I had the impression that you gave the thumbs up to her entire post, where she says that there is no evolution what so ever. Friends again?

Oh, no.

I was just giving the thumbsup to the Genesis 1 remark.

Its the arrogance that is hilarious. None can prove anything...they certainly can't disprove God or address that first cause...yet they think they just have it all. Wouldn't you think they would have exciting, busy lives that would not include making pot shots at God believers on some Christian internet forum? LOL

We make their day Vet......imagine that.

Blah blah blah.........what is the first cause that got evolution going? I want to know and since this group knows all the information in the universe.......you certainly will have the answer.

What was it....and of course prove it...by the scientific method.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't know. That does not change the theory of evolution, not a single point about it.

And you can prove what exactly? Science never claimed to have all the answers, religion does.
