  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When will Elijah the prophet appear in the world?

If you are going to refuse to recognize Elijah when he appears(october 6 2013) then you will probably refuse to believe the "day of the lord" should appear 40 days after(november 14/15 2013) the appearance of Elijah

Thanks for bumping my thread none the less

by the way peoples opinions mean nothing to me ..only Gods opinion means anything to me.

God bless...and may you recognize Elijah when he appears.

You won't realize Elijah has appeared until he declares when the day of the lord will be and it will come to pass....and when it does then you will know that Elijah truly did come just before 'the day of the lord'

Because just as paul says "we are not in darkness that the day of the lord will overtake us as a thief"...........how could that be unless someone(elijah) tells us when it is coming

Something to ponder.

Elijah was never sent to Jews and neither was John the Baptist.

Both had the exact mission of trying to unite the evil kingdom with Judah.

God told Elijah that he reserved 7000 men in Israel{Ahab's kingdom, not Judah}

We see Ahab gather these exact 7000 men who were reserved in the northern kingdom of Israel.

John also came and prepared the way for Jesus to redeem gentiles through marriage, and these gentiles were taken from Galilee, the land of Naphtali and Zebulun, or more to the point,'' The Northern Kingdom called Ephraim''

The mission of Elijah today is the same mission it has always been, it has never been to the Jew, it has always been about reunification of bringing Gentiles to make them one with Judah.

That spirit is here today.

The spirit of Elijah has never been sent to Jews, it was only to Gentiles.

The Northern kingdom created their own worship system apart from Jerusalem, and that was the problem.

You have two Holy cities, 2 sets of Sabbaths, 2 sets of Holy days, 2 sets of priests and the job of Elijah is to make the two one.

To bring the gentile back to the Jew.

When Joseph comes to David.

Try reading the next verse:
12 but I say to you that Elijah already came, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wished.

They did not recognize the Messiah either. This was because of their unrealistic expectations. Seems there is a lot of that going around even in these days.

If you like to go by the prophet Haggai, as I do, then he says that the Day of the Lord's wrath will be on 24 Kislev. This date is reiterated three times. 24 Kislev is 27th Nov. 2013.
So Elijah must come before then, but he may be only known to those righteous people who the Lord will protect, as in Jerusalem - Isaiah 31:5.
