Winning an election by 2% is not a "powerful expression of popular will". Neither is squeaking out a narrow majority in the legislature. Republicans are free to interpret their results however they wish, but if they choose to see it as a mandate to implement their full agenda, I think you may be in for a surprise come 2026.

Which, notably, included three successive actual landslide victories. If Reagan is your benchmark, Trump didn't exactly have the best showing, especially if his competition was truly as weak as you claim.

Had just 198,000 people voted differently in Wisconsin (29,600), Michigan (40,300), and Pennsylvania (128,000), VP Harris would have won the electoral vote. It was that close.

It does make one wonder if, perhaps, there were pro-Trump advocates throwing out Harris votes in certain jurisdictions, or some other form of shenanigans going on. In a close election, these things can make a difference.

We know that in reality President Trump won a landslide election. With 312 electoral college votes, with 2.93 million more in the popular vote - all seven swing states - The majority in the House - The Majority in the Senate.

That is undeniable, so what's a group to do? Admit a major defeat. And to their credit, there are some on the left who are doing just that.

Some have gone so far out of reality to take the votes that went to other candidates (RFK and others) and say that these votes that were not for Trump closes the gap between the popular vote.

But they were also not for Kamala - if you use the same method, Kamala lost by even greater.

The independent votes did not hurt one candidate and help the other - they are unassigned to either candidate.

So let's follow the math - and not make up things so the devastating loss doesn't seem as devastating.

Trump won the Popular vote 76,068,135 to Harris' 73,134,346 - a difference of 2,933,738
Republicans won the Senate - 53 to 47
Republicans won the House - 218 to 209

The soon-to-be official electoral vote results for 2016 are projected to be 306-232. In other words, it’s an Electoral College landslide win for Trump.

Go ahead and gloat about your "landslide." Sooner or later it will dawn on you that you got the win because of real issues about the economy and immigration--not because the voters who put you over cared very much about the Great Replacement or about what bathroom people use. You got a mandate, but not a sweeping victory in the culture war. The Democrats failed to solve the real problems that we face as a nation. They were swept out of office and good riddance. Regretfully, when it comes to the cultural issues, you're probably right. Our society has slid down the slippery slope of moral indifference and repudiation of our foundational principles to the point where there's no going back now.

We, as a society, are travelling down a very well-known and well-documented path; there have been studies made of dozens of cultures across history and geographical area which indicate that human societies degrade, over time, and when they experience what Joseph Unwin described as an "outburst of homosexuality", then the culture had less than two generations to go before it imploded and ceased to exist.

The snowball, I'm afraid, has achieved peak mass and velocity, and while dips in the slope might slow it down some, nothing is going to stop it entirely, until it smashes itself to bits against the trunk of the huge tree at the bottom of the hill.

Less than 50% of voters cast a vote for Trump and he will have only beat his opponent by 1.7 or 1.8% once all of the votes are counted. That's clearly not a landslide.

If I am being honest - the difference in the Popular Vote is actually greater than we know - since Harris did so well in States that don't require voter ID and she flooded the country with illegal aliens so they could vote for her.

If a person can vote with no identification. How does one prevent an illegal alien from voting?

You cannot prove it either way, can you?
