When exactly will the rapture be?
When you come to this board, and almost all of us are gone and not posting anymore; then that will be the day.

I am not for sure either way, I perfer the thought of pre-trib, and there is alot of scripture that can substantiate that, but there is alot of scripture that can substantiate post-trib. it is kinda funny, that it seems everytime the post-tribers come up with something scriptural to prove their case, the pre-tribbers counter with scriptural context to prove their case.

I think the most convincing is this:

"2 Thessalonians 2:7, it says, the mystery of iniquity only he who now hinders as antichrist from coming to power will continue to hinder until he's removed, taken out of the way, the Rapture, and then shall that wicked one be revealed. "
"Do not begin to allow anyone to lead you astray in any way because that day – Christ’s return to earth shall not come except the afore mentioned departure of the church to heaven comes first. And then the man of sin, the antichrist is revealed."

as for when this could all possibly take place is this:

There were 42 generations, and that is from Abraham to Christ, a total of 2160 years. So when one divides 42 into 2160, it comes out to basically 51.5 years. So a generation is not 40 years as we so often said, or others have said, but 51.4.
Then when we get to Luke chapter 3, verses 23 to 38, there is 77 generations from Adam to Christ and that's 4,000 years. When one divides 77 into 4,000, he also comes out to 51.9 years. So a generation is 51 to 52 years. We begin counting this countdown to the return of Christ from the time that Jerusalem is captured by the Jews, Luke 21:24, because the 70 weeks are determined upon thy people, the Jews, Daniel 9:24. So when one adds 51.5 to 1967, when the Jews captured Jerusalem, it comes out to 2018.

for those who have not heard about the inca and mayan calanders, they say that the world will end 2012 or could that be when the rapture happens. end of the world meaning when antichrist comes to power.

I don't know for sure myself, but I would have to say that the OP foreversaved has had the better argument.

and why is it people say not to look for the signs of his return when jesus himself says:

"I command you to know when it's near, even at the door," Matthew 24:33 and 36.

not very convincing when verse 3-5 says this-:

let no-one decieve you in any way, for that day (verse 1 ) will not come until the apostasy, and that man of lawlessness be revealed, the son of destruction.

rome was the ruling power at the time, and it was expected antichrist would be after this kingdom ( the 8th that belonged to the 7. rome was the 6th- the one that was .-rev 17:10 The 7th looks like it might have been papal rome, looking back at history.
