When a non-Christian prays for you...

Do you feel offended? Grateful? Could you care less? Does it matter what their beliefs are? I know that obviously a lot of Christians wouldn't like it if a satanist prayed to satan for them, but what about a Muslim, Hindu, Jew, Paganist, or someone who is just spiritual in general? This question is for Christians.

Other than the satan one (it'd obviously be to annoy you) I'd appriciate it that they did it though. It shows care at the very least. Some people are weird with the word "spiritual", like it's a "bodily need" and you just "feel spiritual" for awhile..I don't quite understand it, but perhaps it's the shackles of religion binding me.

We Christians have no absoulte proof that our faith is the right one, so if so one of another faith wanted to express senitiments to his deity on my behalf, I would probably appreciate it, because his God just might be the right one.

That's an odd and discouraging statement, though it may have a ring of truth.
I don't think we as Christians are "casting a divine lot"..

There are varying kinds. But they are mainly atheistic, viewing Satan as a sort of example rather than a literal entity.

I'm saying that I would only want someone praying for me if they are praying to the God of the Bible. If they are praying to their religion's god, I don't want them praying for me. A person like that is involved in idolatry. Since Satan is known as the "god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:4) and Satan is behind idolatry, I consider any prayers to a false god a prayer to Satan himself. I don't want anybody praying to Satan on my behalf.

Well I am grateful that they would have such concern for me as to speak with their false God about me. However it doesn't mean much to me other then that.

It won't hurt me for them to mention me in their prayers to their false Gods. So its just best to just accept their caring.

i say thanks, like when christians say they will keep me in their prayers. i could careless about the gods being false or true or whatever, but it can really show they care about you and that's what is important in my eyes. people caring for each other and showing each other in some way, shape or form.

I'd never ask a non-Christian to pray for me. If one offered to, I'd probably say 'thank you' out of politeness. I wouldn't get offended or upset - why would I? They're doing something kind.

Not trying to start a debate, but a few things should be made clear:

1. Muslims do not worship the same God as Christians do. That's a very common misconception, but it's not true. Islam says God doesn't live in Heaven but exists everywhere at once and has no form, man wasn't made in His likeness, we should 'submit' to God rather than love Him, that Heaven is attained through works rather than faith, and that sins are paid for by punishment and even temporary time in Hell. Islam STEMMED from the same roots as Christianity, but they don't believe the same things about God at all.

2. Jews do worship the same God as Christians do. You can argue that "they don't believe Jesus is the Messiah, and Jesus is God, so therefore it isn't the same God", etc etc etc, but they worship the God of the OT, and that's the same God we worship. They're blinded to the truth of Jesus, yes, but they do worship our God and vice versa.

I guess this topic could really turn into a whole other thread. Or multiple threads even.

I don't care if they believe in the invisible pink unicorn. God is omniscient and therefore hears all prayer.
