What's your opinion about Paul Washer?

What do you think about Paul Washer?

  • I think he's totally awesome.

  • I love his shocking sermons they scare me and make me try harder.

  • I think he's dangerous and preaches a false message.

  • Listening to his sermons made me sick.

  • We need more Paul Washer styled preachers. You have to scare christians to help them.

  • People need to become totally terrorized by the fear of God this will make them stop sinning.

  • Washer preaches a sound message. If you want to get saved you have to stop sinning.

  • I want to become a shock-preacher like Washer one day.

  • There's nothing better than shocking a church full of young people.

  • Making young christians doubt their salvation is always good it makes them try harder.

That's a pretty low number...but I think he's right that a majority of Christians who profess faith in Christ have no idea what their saying. Many say they were born Christian.

Of course Paul could be dead wrong and that "majority" could actually be more like just "some".

Here's a great sermon by him discussing how Jesus said the way is narrow and few be that find it.

When Jesus spoke those words He was speaking to the Jewish people. Most of them rejected Jesus as their expected Messiah. The theme of a remnant was well known from the OT and Jesus was reminding the Hebrews of their need to follow God properly.

By the 4th Century almost half the Roman Empire of 60+ million people had become Christian. That is a significant number. The problem with Western society today is that they do not see a meaningful, life related church of fully human followers of Jesus. Instead they see a dualistic, otherworldly, often condemnatory people whose overall negativity about God, what life in this world is all about, and about themselves. They just don't see that much 'good news' being lived out.

I think Washer has so many fanboys today because hearing these shocking sermons and feeling like THEY are the real deal makes them feel chosen and elitarian after all THEY can feel saved and THEY can stand in front of the mirror and pat themselves on the shoulder because THEY fear God and because THEY follow Jesus and because THEY deny themselves.
I can understand how this appeals to many people. People simply want to feel special and feel good about themselves but in the end what is Washer promoting? In my opinion it's works and a total focus on the OWN way of living.

Oh and by the way, if you want to know how Paul Washer REALLY thinks listen to his own words. His own words show what he believes he believes in works. He has the very same thinking which ALL religions have which is that being a "good person" makes you go to heaven.

I challenge all Washer fanboys! Listen yourself starting at 08:00 and hear what Washer really believes. Washer believes that giving alms and doing good works makes you deserve going to heaven!

youtube(dot)com/watch?v=jSusCzUMX2E

Paul Washer says:

"Makes sense to me. He's going to paradise because that's where he deserves to go."
:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:

I believe there is nothing left to say here. Those who admire Washer are probably never gonna get it. They will get off at listening to his shocking sermons and then watch themselves even more and check themselves even more. Why not get a sin diary? Oh yeah! Can't get much more spiritual than a sin diary. Or why not buy a whip and punish yourself every time you sin? Does Washer sell custom-whips in his shop? Would be a great idea if you ask me.

Here another perfect example of Washer's totally destructive message which messes people up.

youtube(dot)com/watch?v=cIKAKMnx78I

Go to 2:36 and hear for yourself what kind of great advice Washer gives to a poor exhausted girl. You can only give such advice when you believe in calvinism which Washer does. According to Washer before you can even get saved you have to cry and beg and wipe the floor with your knees for days or weeks until God answers one day. That's really some good news.
I wonder what those people do who do not have weeks left to roll around on the floor with tears in their eyes.

A sin diary. Fantabulous! What a great idea! It could be marketed just right and...I wonder as well if this would sell on craigslist.

This is just the beginning, my rotten sinning friend!

There is much more to come for all rotten, filthy, stinking, dirty, disgusting, abominable sinners which aren't yet living holy like Paul Washer and his fanboys.

-a sin diary app for all modern smartphones
-a self-shock device for all smartphones with a special punish button (whenever you find yourself sinning or thinking about sinning just hit the button and you phone will send you a non-lethal but painful electro shock right to your spinal chord through your hands, the new patented E-SHAWK transdermal delivery system makes it possible)
-a 21th century chastity belt also using the new patented E-SHAWK device for all dating christians (just in case they should get any sinful thought or the electrodes attached to the penis notice any unusual increase in nerve activity or blood flow they'll automatically be punished through some quick and unexpected salvos of electro shocks & an email will immediately be sent to their parents letting them know that their child just had a sinful thought and that they must immediately pick them up wherever they are / their exact locating will of course also be transmitted since the chastity belt has a built in GPS transmitter)

There's much more to come. This is just the beginning. Paul Washer's new godly America declares war on sin BIG TIME!

This is truly a time of huge hope. Now for the first time ever mankind has the technology to defeat sin. And now where the apostle of holiness Paul Washer has entered the scene we can finally put an end to sinning once and for all. I always thaught that Paul was the greatest apostle but he's not. God has mercy upon mankind and in the last days he sent us the greatest apostles of all to finally straighten all rotten, dirty, stinking, miserable, putrid, disgusting, execrable, atrocious, heinous, detestable, loathsome, hideous
christians out.

Tell us what to do Paul!
Show us the way! We're dirt. We're nothing. We're unworthy!

:bow::bow::bow::bow:

Your child likes rock music?
Your child watches too much TV?
Your child wears unchristian clothes?
Your child chews bubblegum?
Why put up with this unacceptable behavior?
SHOCK your child back on the right track with Paul Washer.
Using Paul Washers patented subliminal shock waves you can shock your child close to madness
without it even realizing it!
Sounds too good to be true?
Not with Shockotron, the new patented subliminal shock technology based on subliminal beta wave brain technology which gets your child when it's most vulnerable right during the sleep!
Your child won't suspect anything because of the subliminal shock messages (all shocking messages have been personally recorded with Paul Washer at the Southern Baptist sound studios!) which are masterfully hidden and interwoven with the sound structures absolutely unidentifiable for the human brain.Your child will think it's listening to some cool trendy music while at the same time a deep terror and fear of hell and a hatred for sinful activities like watching TV, chewing bubblegum, playing computer games or also wasting times with senseless hobbies will be deeply instilled into your childs soul.
Shockotron promises fast results, guaranteed! You will chickly notice your child change and become crippled by fear. No more bubblegum, no more rebellious clothes! Paul Washer's shocking messages will burn themselves into the very soul of your child making sure that it will never return to being this worthless, unruly, contumacious, ornery, froward thing it once was.
You'll finally get the child you ever wanted which is perfectly willing to obey and will be wonderfully moldable in your hands like a piece of hot wax. The perfect child is just a simply shock away! Call now and order your free Shockotron test trial with 3 different shock tracks depending on which genre your rebellious, rotten child prefers ranging from sinful rock to peccable hip hop.
When you call also ask for the limited Shockotron headphones which are specially designed to deliver the subliminal messages right to the neocortex of your sleeping child. Remember, not calling would be a sin!

My opinion of Paul Washer- WHO? Never heard of him. What he teaches and preaches doesn't register on the Orthodox radar. In my opinion- you'd all do well to take similar notions regarding these men and their doctrines.

ive heard a lot of washers stuff and those who are twisting his words are doing just that, and they get their info from websites of people who dont even follow the Word of God but their own justification..

and i believe hes right when he says only a few Christians are actually, Christians. (those professing)

matthew 7:20-23 (many professing, few possessing)

you want a man who preaches the gospel like none i have ever heard before and is annointed from on high?

look up Rick Coram Sermons via Google.. theres many places you can find them..

I guess it all comes down to are you willing to live as Jesus commanded , or take the chance when you get there.
I do not want to hear the words "I did not know you".

Paul washer may be wrong, but it is a big mistake if you find out later , when you can not change how you lived.

You have freewill, it is your choice.

Like many fundamentalists Paul Washer takes one aspect of our redemption - forgiveness of sins - leaving out the far grander vision Jesus and the NT writers taught. The biblical story is one of our Father's unchanging desire for his beloved creation to fulfil His original intention for them, to be image bearers of God, living in His world, and anticipating its renewal when Jesus returns. A gospel framed in sin and constant criticism fails to give us any idea of what it means to be an image bearer of God as a fully alive human being. Thus, it sells us far short of the glorious message Paul wrote so passionately about.

Maybe God only anointed his ministry for bringing souls into the Kingdom. I have listened under many evangelists who preach only sin and salvation every night and pack the alters. It's definitely not a bad thing.

I think you should also look up his background, he was a minister to Peru for ten years after seminary, the man IS a man of God.

Stiller,

The man may be wrong about what he preaches, what can you do? Creating anti-Paul Washer sites and blogs won't help anything and calling people like Zeener rotten sinners won't help either. Friend, if he's wrong then pray for him and set your eyes of Christ. The body of Christ is full of people who get it wrong, no doubt you deserve some correction from God as well because your not perfect either. Go preach the truth and pray for him, that's all you can do. Paul Washer should never become the point of your ministry.

I like Benny Hinn and Oral Roberts and Jentzen Franklin and Kenneth Copeland and do you know how many people hate those guys? Geez... but I don't care.

If you have wisdom and truth and know the Lord then do something good with it, pray for them and remember the brokenness and ashes that God found you in too. None of us deserve anything good, there's nothing good in you, just like there's nothing good in Mr Washer. What is good in you was placed there by God, so be humble and grateful and Washer may be wrong but your not better than him ya know? Pray for him, if you can't or aren't willing to, then your hearts not in the right place either.

If I was not a christian (though many love to accuse me of not being one, like I care), if I listened to Washer, he would only further drive me from the faith. He has no love for people and shows god to be a petty, vindictive, violent deity, similar to a god of Greek myth, rather than the All-Creator of the universe who only acts in loving benevolence on behalf of His dear creation. Probably a good thing I was raised to believe in God, since men like Washer would only serve to alienate me from the religion even more.

I am not listening to the noise on this thread. I LOVE Paul Washer and thank God for him. I don't think Paul is awesome, it is God working through him, he is just a vessel. Just a man and like a wild animal can turn on you any second. So I don't put too much stock in Paul the man, but Paul as a modern day prophet. His message has changed my outlook on life and sin and my relationship with God and made it better.

I can't stand Joel Osteen but I am starting to see that Joel might have some value (somewhere). If someone comes in the name of Christ, I'm not going to write them off completely. I think everyone deserves an (armslength) chance.
