A little cool this morning. I was supposed to go to Fargo for an 8 AM Dr appointment. The car is frozen to the ground and the tires are unable to turn. Kills the engine every time I try to put it into gear. Usually happens when the temp is below -10F

Current Temp shows as Minus 9 but that would be at the Jamestown airport 40 miles away. Feels quite a bit colder here.

It warms up a little and we get snow. After that, back below zero F for a bit.

We got a couple of inches today, temps got up to 20F and won't be too unreasonable tomorrow, but tomorrow night back down it goes.

I don't know about anybody else, but I reckon I'll be glad when this breaks. On the occasions that I have to sleep in the van, it gets expensive having to run the engine to keep warm. (Note: I'm glad that is possible with this van. It wasn't with the last one, the engine would not maintain heat at idle.)

Last few days have been hot and we have had someof the worst bushfires in years. Has cooled a bit today and most are under control, lots o f smoke still around, but not as bad as it was yesterday. Biggest current problem is the fire in the open cut coal mine, about 8 miles from where I live. Needs to be put out before it gets to be more than a surface fire. So, all in all, not the best of weather recently.

It had been dry but, very dull all-day
However, as we left 'ceramics' late this afternoon, it began to sprinkle a drop of rain
Ten minutes later, this turned into sleet and, about five minutes later still, it turned into a snow storm
[WHERE ? did 'that' come-from ?]
within fifteen minutes more and it was gone again
[The FIRST snow, in over a year \o/]

THAT! was indeed 'a surprise' !!!!

Mary and I are in-between the #'s 60 and 64 in this map
Sue [rebornfree] is just above # 52 and south, of the RED LINE

So far, we have seen and heard 'High Winds' that sound like a heavy goods train going by [from indoors]
the winds are making our local trees 'groan' before them
I have had to go outside and bring our recycle bins, back from the road

We'll have-to wait, to hear of Sue's experience
Apparently, the whole country, is 'having a blast'

Hi Dave ,

I had to take stuff out to the bins earlier, and found that the top of an outside container had blown off despite having had a fair-sized stone place on top of it. I replaced that with three stones and so far so good. The wind was very noisy early evening but has quietened down now. Praise God!

The south of the country seems to be having it very bad. :prayer: for those affected.

I was going to say "coooooold!" until I read Paul K's post, but compared to those temperatures I'll have to say "quite cold!" :D After the storm yesterday it has been a beautiful, sunny and only slightly breezy day, but it has turned cold tonight. (Better than the winds though.)
