It's--- not warm. It's gray. It's rainy. A good day for driving if I get a call, but otherwise a fine day for napping.

Right now, 48F, predicted to make 53F under rainy skies before dropping tonight to 29F, which will seem warm by the weekend.

It is cloudy and cold. Fortunately the snow missed the Chicago area, I read that it gets bad downstate though. We've already had the high for the day if it might charitably be called that.

Right now, 18F, sinking to 7F tonight. I could hope I don't get called out tonight, the prospect of sleeping in the van isn't something to look forward to.

It was 77 today in the Virginia Beach area.

Forgive me that I shared, but it felt good.

It's not quite as cold as they said, it's 10F here as I write this. Of course, it could still sink a degree or two since the sun still has a couple of hours before it rises. High for today--- not very. I think we can safely say any tanning somebody attempts will either be from a bottle or at a tanning salon--- not out in the back yard or at the beach.

The cold has arrived and it is 44 and raining now.

The Gulf Stream goes by here, and keeps us warmer than the rest
of Virginia.

I am near the Atlantic Virginia Beach and our average winter
temp is 35 to 40.

I do not live in Virginia Beach, but who ever heard of Newport News, which is
46 minutes away.

A fun fact:
The city is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as having the longest pleasure beach in the world.

The Pine Ridge Reservation is about 250 Miles South of me. The Current Temp there at Porcupine is:

Although they are South of me quite often they are much colder.

In many ways it is much worse, as at least 1/3 of the homes do not have electricity for heating.

I've heard of it. There's a naval base there, amongst other things. One of my sideline interests is naval history, and Newport News figures in naval history.
