Fairly mild here.

Do you grow some plants undercover all year round Woodrow?

Actually have some plants one would not expect up here' I have 2 fig trees that do quite well, but I have to wrap them up from Oct -May.

Just put up the Green house a few weeks ago. I'm going to see what I can do with it and how much I will need to heat it in the winter.

I just planted some seed in flats that I have in it. Tomatoes, Squash and Peppers. I hope they will be large enough to move outdoors by June. Last year I tried planting tomatoes outdoors. I planted the seeds in May, by the time they got big enough to fruit they were killed by our first frost.

Mostly what people plant up here are hardy grains like wheat and rye. Corn also as it matures from seed in only 2-3 months. Planted in late June and ready to pick in august.

I must admit I wouldn't have imagined that fig trees could grow in such a cold climate. I hope your veg do well. I can see that your outdoor growing season is short, but presumably wheat and rye survive the winter. It makes me think of the Canadian prairies, which must be just over the border from you perhaps?

Weather here continues fairly mild with some sun today.

It does seem to be 'cooler' without cloud overhead [?]

Have a good night Sis'
I have another 27 minutes remaining for online 'stuff' :D

I didn't stay outside long, but I imagine it would be.

Goodnight Dave ; I must be going soon too.

Warmer at least. Highs got into the 70s F, lows tonight high 30s F. Rain and thunderstorms. I think they took the bad stuff out (we were supposed to get high winds, hail and generally nasty thunderstorms). Flooding along the Kankakee River near Shelby, Indiana.

Spring is here.

Wait, what?? Colder and snow this afternoon and this evening?? Say it ain't so, Joe!

Right now, rain and 60F or thereabouts. Turning colder, rain will change to snow, a coating to maybe a couple of inches on grassy areas this afternoon. Lows in the 20s F tonight. Another arctic outbreak coming our way, anything East of the Mississippi will get some.
