Until the last few moments ... It has been dull and cloudy temps at 14.C /66.F
So, with the sun making an appearance, maybe now the temps will climb somewhat before Tea

I am on my own here with the dogs and birds [4 nights]
Mary has joined her daughter and two grandchildren in a caravan in North Wales
Her sil couldnt get time off work for the period..so, Mary has gone [with] to keep them 'company'
I myself will be off to Bristol in two or three weeks, for a similar period [maybe, a week] visiting family there

Hope everyone is grateful for the weather they have

It was overcast till about 45 minutes before my Grand daughter's 1st birthday party.
It was like someone pulled up the shades it came that fast.
I think the wind blew the clouds away.
Anyway we had a ton of people over for the party
two grandmas one great grandma mom dad 3 uncles and numerous friends and cousins etc.
it lasted 5 hours. Wow it was fun and my gd was so mellow the whole time and just loved it.

I saw the photos Jan

It WAS, quite a crowd

The weather HERE, has been absolutely gorgeous

I walked to ceramics class today

On the way, I posted my postal-vote into the collection box
which is, just outside of 'Rialto Gardens'
That, is a warden-controlled, community of 'oldies', residence
One, that Mary and I have, so-often been invited, to parties there
before I re-joined, the main road and then walking, down the street
to the Resource Centre and the class

Class numbers, were down this-week... I counted just five, of us
and that includes 'Rita' [she, is the class 'leader' /potter/sculptress]
this, instead of, the usual dozen, or so

Of-course, Mary, she is 'stopping-out' again tonight :p
for the second of four 'sleeps'
in a caravan [with her daughter and two, of her grandchildren]
at a site in North Wales...
and yes the weather has been almost tropical for them [today]
I could compare it, with a day in 'Limmasol, Cyprus'
yes, on a day in mid-July about 11.30am ...
so-'warmmmmmmmmmm'

I had to wear my unlined corduroy jacket, for protection from the sun's rays
but that heat was moist and the different 'air-pressure'
would cause a 'draft' between my body and my clothing
but, it was also a hot draft from outside, 'blowing in'

I didn't wear my hat, although maybe I could have benefited
of the shade of it's rim
my scalp was already, wet-enough ...without-it!

My flowerpot man is now finished
Apparently, some of his parts were too-well protected
by other items, that were also, in the kiln, loaded, at full capacity
Those items didn't, get quite as hot, as was 'necessary' to 'melt'
the applied glazes
the kiln temperature being not quite hot-enough, around those items
I have wired it up temporarily for 'his debut' here, in CF
I will sort-it a much more permanent wire frame, tomorrow

Ladies, and gentlemen, but for a moment of your attention,
that is, if one, may?
I do now pray, that you 'look'.........
this way ¬v

For, I have the honour, this very day
to present,
my now completed, ceramic 'flowerpot-man'... for display
et-voila \o/

Thank you Lord ! for every little thing you give me
and, so-many, little things....
that they add-up to, quite a LOT!
Thank you for loving me :clap:

LOL, I like it. Wow, sounds like your day is absolutely wonderful.
It is windy here and cold, what else is new, LOL.
I walked over to the grocery store to get some things for the cake I am baking, I just about got blown over there, the birds are having a difficult time flying.

It sounds very much, as though you would 'really, appreciate'
some, of what we enjoyed here, today
The only 'brolly's' that Salford, in Umbrella City [Manchester UK]
saw outside today, was parasols

I know that I have had many a similar experience of such weather

Experience, that now repeatedly asks you,
"Do you really NEED TO GO ? - Are you sure ??" "Do you want a :groupray: about it ?"

He knows our needs,
and if we truly look at it, in truth [in 'the light' of day]
Psalm 23 (NIV)

They are already adequately provided,
each, to them their portion
or are, in the pipeline
and scheduled for delivery according to His will

bad experience, is the precursor
to a thorough understanding and appreciation, of 'good experience'
~once you have had, the former,
you can, get quite-attached to the latter
and regain your appetite for your Daily Bread

I was driving home from the city in the sunshine and looked over to our northshore mountains and it was absolutely black. Once over the bridge it started to rain big fat drops then quickly turned to quite a big hailstorm shower. Thankfully the sky cleared after that. Man it looked ominous.

Indoors is very cool indeed!
But outdoors is bright and sunny
with a hazier sky than yesterday... very little, blue around
Temps are 22.C / 73.F in the sun with no breeze outdoors

Intentionally created, draughts/drafts, indoors
is keeping our indoors, so cool

Yet another belated weather report. They sent me down to Atlanta, GA. I had rain much of the way down, but Tuesday morning broke clear. Highs reached the mid-80s under clear skies. The trees are all looking like mid-summer (no surprise, their growing season is considerably longer than ours).

I had good weather coming back through Tennessee and Kentucky, mid-80s but windy. South of Indianapolis last night I got clobbered by a severe storm. Lightning, heavy rains, a bit of small hail and windy. At that, it looked like the worst passed North of Indianapolis before I got there. Three big rigs had been blown off the road and were on their sides, since they were all in a half mile area I would guess either a tornado or a downburst caught them. That was about midnight last night. (Hmmm-- a prayer for big truck drivers caught out in bad weather might not be a bad idea.)

Right now--at home in Carol Stream-- cloudy, cool. 38F, we might make mid-40s F today.

Add-on to my last post: I just read reports confirming 10 tornadoes in Indiana last night. One of them had flipped four tractor-trailer rigs on their sides on Interstate 65. I saw three of the rigs, missed seeing the fourth one (it was dark and raining heavily, it's easy to miss at night).

I mentioned praying for big rig drivers caught out in heavy weather. This is no joke. I've been in that situation some twenty-three years back. Caught out in the open, heavy cross winds tried to blow my truck into the ditch. If the truck had gone into the ditch it would have rolled onto its side and nothing could have stopped it. I was running light, having unloaded most of the freight by then. That's what happened to these fellows last night. Whether a tornado got them or heavy straight-line winds, they were shoved off the road and into the grass, and once the wind had them nothing but God could have saved them from rolling over. That's one ride I hope never to be on.

By the mercy of God, I didn't read of any deaths last night. Lots of property damage but that appears to be it so far as I've been able to learn.
