I like good heating. When my husband was in college we lived in an old, old house & sometimes wore our winter coats indoors.

yes! I can remember days like that when we were first married. Every time we tried to light the fire it would go out. Happy days!?!

We've had temps down to -5 C in NW England last week; it's got too cold even for me who likes winter - outside (less keen when the house gets too cold). This week it's above freezing again but we've had some rain. I feel so sorry for those sleeping rough. How can that happen in this day and age?

It's -11C in Vancouver Canada tonight. Lots of snow. Usually a few of the churches are open for the homeless. I can't imagine the hardships they're encountering either.

Winter storm Elliott will be here tomorrow! Blizzard condtions and very cold. "Shiver me timbers!" and "Heap on more wood. The wind is chill."

Here in Minnesota where I live, we are getting Sub-Zero weather. In fact it is about 30 below wind chill. I am staying inside my apartment. I can't even travel to another state to visit family because the driving conditions are so bad. I will probably go on Christmas Day.

Here in Minnesota where I live, we are getting Sub-Zero weather. In fact it is about 30 below wind chill. I am staying inside my apartment. I can't even travel to another state to visit family because the driving conditions are so bad. I will probably go on Christmas Day.

I looked at the temp at 3:00 AM yesterday and it was 7 below. Winter storm Elliott is worse the further north you are! Those who lose power are in a bad way,

I feel blessed. We got only a few inches of snow, but it was so cold I gave up trying to shovel.

I got the Christmas gifts out of the house with my granddaughter's help and watched the great- grandkids open theirs.
