Not really. Unfortunately we've had summers like this before. We stay in the house, turn the A/C to 78 so it doesn't run continuously, and run the ceiling fans. It's comfortable., though I wish it was at least 15 degrees cooler. Makes me long for fall. I went out a while ago to fill the bird baths and feeders. It was bearable in the shade but the sweat was still dripping down my face.

How about you? How long is your heat supposed to last?

Currently 100, forecast high 108. Chance of a popup shower.

Next Tuesday. My cooling is broke so I'm scrambling trying to cool down the house and get help. Supposed to be 117 today and higher the next few days. I'm afraid some of the cats i feed won't make it. They are used to laying by the door for the cool air but there isn't any and i have to keep the door shut to keep the heat out.

Ugh. I feel for you. We've been there in years past. Thankfully we won't get that high and are supposed to have a one-day break of 97 on Sunday. Then back up again into the low 100s through next Friday, but supposed to get dryer air so that may help keep the heat index down. It's been up around 112-115 the past few days.

I remember as a youngster my grandmother having fans blowing over bowls of ice to cool rooms. Maybe just make sure the cats have water somewhere in the shade. Animals usually manage to find cooler spots near foundations, culverts, etc. We have ferals that show up after dark. I leave food and water for them.

I'm in north TX, about 140 miles west of DFW.

I saw on a news clip that southern Europe is experiencing a bad heat wave, also. Somewhere in Italy it was supposed to reach 48° C. I think that's about 118° F ?

We topped out at 110 yesterday (43.3° C).
"Feels Like" heat index got up to 118. And it felt like it!

Yes, it's very hot in Europe at the moment. We are too far north thankfully.

Currently 109°F. Feels like 110. Humidity 20%.

Our record for this day is 110. Looks like we might hit or exceed.

Very gusty SW wind. Could use some rain, we're under drought restrictions as of yesterday.

Oh I'm sorry that some of you are having serious weather conditions.

Parts of southern Europe are too.We're north of the Jet Stream which I think is keeping our temperatures cool, so we're escaping the extreme heat so much of the Northern Hemisphere is suffering from. I'm so thankful but feel for those struggling with difficult weather conditions.

Currently 91.

We get a reprieve through Sunday, mid-90s on average. Then back up to 103-105 beginning Monday, not quite as hot as it has been.

I saw a map/article today on what Texas cities could be underwater by 2050. It was an interactive map so it also showed the entire coast of the US and was based on an increase in current conditions, including pollution. It didn't look promising.

I told my husband that we may be hot at the moment, but at least we aren't floating away in a flood and haven't been hit by a tornado. We're in better shape that a lot of folks.
