There are voices in Japan who say we should add snipers and bring also one or two frigates to guard our ships. The entire procedure of Atalata infront the coast of Somalia could be done. That also means deadly violence against pirates who attack us.

OR you could abide by your treaty obligations and stop harvesting whales to make aphrodisiacs and use viagra like civilized people. Then you wouldn't have to worry about it.

Or you could stay out of Japan's business?
The right move is to put snipers, or machine guns, on the boats, like civilized people SHOULD do, but don't have the cojones to do. Once the mini-terrorists find out that attacking Japanese ships is likely to end you with a big part of your head missing, or clinging to a piece of shot-up wood, the problem should rectify itself.
It worked in the Carribean.

Btw - are you a vegan? If not, you're a *censored* hypocrite.

Lol i love how americans have no clue. We make no aphrodisiacs. We are not chinese. You know what we make?

We sell it as burgers, at meat stores and super markets:

We stop eating whales, when you leave the poor chickens and cows alone.

Which is a violation of the ICRW, of which Japan is a signatory.

No it is not. The ICRW allows hunting of whales for research. We do research and the ICRW allows, that the rest of the whale can be used for creating food?

That would be the Institute of Cetacean Research whose methods, methodologies and outcomes are wildly criticized cetacean researchers around the world. They publish little research for the amount of whales they kill and that research is rarely important. ICR is a the front to a whaling industry rather than the purpose for it.

Except that far more whales than are needed for legitimate scientific research are being caught each season.

Says who? The numbers are calculated from our own research groups.

Oh, I'm sure they are. And I am sure that all the whales get some research done on them before being shipped off to make burgers. What I question is whether all of those whales are actually needed to perform the research. Based on the allowed quotas, it's over a whale a day that they need to research. What exactly are they studying? What is the exact research that they are doing? Does all of the research they are doing require lethal methods? I mean, if they're just taking a few blood samples, that's not exactly a good reason to kill several hundred whales.

While some accuse Japan of violating treaty obligations that has not been proven and the lack of any action against Japan suggests that the allegation simply untrue

the american whaling and european whaling destroyed the populations of the huge whale species. After that the minke whale population exploded same as the seal population. the krill declines. Our research shows that moderate harvest does not damage the population at all. Its actually rising beside our hunting.

Japan believes, abundand whales species should be allowed to be hunted, because we see them as normal food and we should harvest them in a responsible manner. Thats our point of view and our research proves it right.
