Both are by consent. Your country rape all of Asia wasn't.

Your country rapes all of the world. And you call it consent? Most women in your country are forced into prostitution by an inhumane system. Beside that: lol

We rape all the world? Care to prove it?

Your entire system is based on rape, exploition and slavery. USA could not survive on its current level without wars and occupation of foreign countries. Luckily for the rest of the world, that time is ending now.

No. Do you have any education of texas other than what you see from movies?

He was a high school exchange student north of Dallas a few years back. In previous threads, it comes across that Akira feels that the whole country is like that one area.

As far as whaling goes, Akira, I think that when Americans hear the word whaling, they are thinking only of the endangered species not realizing that there are some species that are not endangered. I know I didn't until reading this thread.

We are NOT a country of prostitution and slavery. Most women here are not "forced" into prostitution as you stated. Most, if not all choose to do it using bad decision making because they can only see the fast money and think that prostitution will solve all of their problems when there are many other options available to them.

We haven't had slavery in this country since the late 1800's.

While you may deny it, there is lots of prostitution in Japan.

Well the minke whales around antarctica are not endangered and are listed as common animals.

The whale harvest does not make a dent in the amount of meat that is consumed by Japan per year. The Japanese consume 43.9 Kg (96.5 lbs) of meat per person per year as of 2002. Even if you slaughtered the entire antarctic Minke Whale population, and somehow used 100% of the weight of the whales for meat, you would only get 39 pounds per person.

It's an absurd notion that whaling would be a workable source of protein for Japan in some dystopian trade war future. If the rest of the world is against Japan to the point of ending meat exports they age going to put an end to the whale harvest as well.

My only objection to the whale harvest is the charade about it being research.

Well it depends how you classify slavery. The small jobs people at WalMart looked pretty much like slavery for me.

Well the scientific research is the only option left for us to do our traditions. So? Tell me, why do we don hunt whales?

Those who willingly take a job and can leave at any time are not slaves. The employee makes the decision as to accepting the job and to leaving the job. No one is forcing them to work there. They have a free will to work there or not.

Slaves are those who are owned by people, sold to other people and can not get freedom. These people worked for an owner who probably purchased them from a slave owner. These people have no choice but to work there. They can not make a decision to work there or to leave.

The two are very different.

Thing is, that we planned to stop whaling in the 70th. USA offered us fishing rights at the american west coast. Then as we agreed the americans broke their promise and did not allow us to fish there. So we did not stop whaling. In other words, it was your own governments betrayal, that makes us hunt whales.

And i would like to add, we hunt whales that exist often. USA gives a quota of 60 bryde whales to the natives...there are only 3000 bryde whales in that area and its seen as a seperate species. Thats disgusting and Japan strongly demands that USA stops whaling on endangered species.

You hunt whales because it is tradition, even though much of your population does not eat it. The tradition has become an empty one, but because it is tradition, you do it anyway. So basically, it comes down to it being a sport.
