I am trying to understand this feud Calvinist and Armenians have. It is like you guys love to prove the other wrong and draw a point on your Bible for being right. If you think they have the wrong doctrine than why do you bash them on there beliefs as if that will help guide them in the correct direction? I watch my wife argue and debate with Armenians and I find it disturbing to see how excited she gets when she gets that one verse that is like a dagger to the Armenian on the topic at hand.

IMO this is where the devil divides GOD people even more. If Jesus was here, Do you think he would act like the high and mighty Calvinist like I see in this forum and from my wife?

Do you think Jesus Christ is happy to see how you can make another person feel lost?

How do you think Jesus Christ would talk to the lost?

Do you think Jesus Christ would act like Calvinist do towards Armenians?

I will say this...

I am NOT a Calvinist or a Baptist or a Armenian but I am a Born Again Believer who was brought up as a Baptist. I don't believe that there should be all these sects of Christianity like there is today. I believe that the different Sects is another way for the Devil to divide GODs people.

I DO NOT try and stick a plank in my brothers eye or win a point in a debate about GOD lol. I try to live by the word as best I can and follow the footsteps that Christ left for us. I know Christ WOULD NOT act the way I posted above.

I do have many of the same beliefs that Calvinist and Baptist hold true but I will never allow someone to say I am a certain sect of any religion.

I am a GOD fearing man.
I only believe what the Bible says.
I won't listen to you unless you have scripture to back it up.
I only read the KJV.

So maybe we should go back to the....

What made you go off like this?
You sport the Calvinist icon...I want to know what's behind this in other words.
Honestly...you are in a purely Calvinist forum.
So what's the beef here?

I didn't think I was going off lol.

I just saw a thread here about issues of Calvinist and Armenian and it was putting down Armenians. I came here because I was asked to come to this forum instead of the Baptist forum. It asked me what faith I had when I signed up for the forum. The closest I got to is Calvinism. I probably have the same exact views but as soon as I got here I saw a thread about Armenians and didn't like it to much. I don't think its right to put down others like that and I felt a need to ask why do so many Calvinist do this?

This is the thread I am speaking about...

" One of my favorite things to say to Armenians "

Along with seeing my wifes debates and more with all her other Calvinist friends it seems Calvinist are looking for ways to chalk another point up on Armenians especially.

GOTCHA and thankyou.
I was wondering about the purpose of that thread too...so I understand your points now.
I also understand that forums are forums....take what you need too with a grain of salt.
Theological competition is the norm here at CF in most forums...so don't get to personal with some threads. ;)

There is a saying that newly converted persons to the glorious truths of Sovereign Grace (TULIP) should be locked up for a year before we're allowed to speak to people because the first thing new Calvinists tend to do is seek out every free-will religionist and show them how wrong they are. The message is correct, but the delivery needs a good dose of Christ-likeness. I've been through it and every Calvinist i know has been through it. The Holy Spirit does eventually convict us of arrogant and prideful sin and we see how miserable we are apart from the free grace of our Sovereign.

As for debating, i wont go near one unless i sense deliberate evil mis-information from free-will religionists slandering our exalted Lord Jesus Christ and His right to the reward of His suffering.

Thanks for the insight!

BTW how do you change your mood on this forum? I have tried everything and can't find how to do it LOL.

In September I will be 1 years old in the reformed faith. And its true..I've kinda settled down in my going crazy over the profound truth God has opened my eyes too. when the truth is discovered..its like how Helen Keller acted after she understood that the movements in her hands meant something. She went around everywhere and every place and She hunger and thirst for more and more and couldn't get enough of it. Thats exactly what its like. And the truth is so profound and so amazing..I mean hey God is actually GOD. He controls, and is Sovereign! <~thats just on his Sovereignty. Then it comes grace, and all the other Solo's. All of it is profound and amazing.

In some of the chat rooms I go to..we have inside discussions and jokes we have amongst ourselves. But when the debates to go on..or when someone comes in the room and tries to say our God is a God who rapes individuals or says that God is a child abuser becuause he abused his own son.. that stuff just gets me ticked. And I just can't sit back and let someone talk about our Glorious Savior like that. And also its frustrating when people come in with the common misunderstanding over and over and over again. But..I I'm in a room with mature and long in years of brothers and sister in the reformed faith. So..I tend to now sit back and let them speak..while I learn how to approach, and how to answer the common misunderstood beliefs they think we stand by too.

btw-The paltalk room I go to is the -Reformed theology Lectures and discussion.

The problem of prideful debate isn't confined to Calvinists. The problem is that we all tend to try to get one over on the one we are debating. That is why I quit debating for the most part. I do still engage folks when I feel I can't keep silent. It is a fact that both systems can't be correct. One must be truth and the other false. The core of the debate for me is who is God? I want people to know Him who is true. I always try to keep in mind that there are many here who only read threads and I post for them. I am aware that the chance of convincing someone I am debating is almost 0.

I apologize if my post in that thread was offensive. I did not intend for it to be. Just blowing off some steam. I don't really debate soteriology. I'll discuss it if the discussion presents itself (mostly IRL, I don't get into them too much online). If I did debate the subject regularly my marriage would be little more than a war zone, lol. I would like to see believers come to really recognize God's sovereignty in their salvation and this world instead of focusing on man-centered doctrines. But I've never found aggressive debate to be effective (maybe it's just that I'm not good at debate...). Prayer, reasoning with them when appropriate, and waiting on God to open their eyes makes a lot more sense to me.

Not to be picky - but to clarify - Armenian is a nationality, although there is an Armenian church - one of the oldest in the world. Arminian is a Christian.

Calvinism, Arminianism - Different faith traditions.

What we believe may have an effect on how we do evangelism; but, people will still be called to Christ, and believe in Jesus, whatever the method. There is no way I would ever consider someone from the Church of the Nazarene, for example, as not being a Christian because they were Arminian. I'm a Presbyterian because I grew up in that particular denomination, and I see no reason to change. I love the tradition because it's my own. Why should I deny the same to a fellow Christian, and his/her tradition?

Well, it's not an excuse, but it's a cause. When people start badmouthing us, we tend to respond in kind. When people start attacking our position, we often respond in kind. Otherwise it'd be like fighting in a riot with one hand behind our backs. We'll get bludgeoned and beaten, and we'll likely lose more than we win.

No one who wants to start a discussion about the "feud" between Calvinists and Arminians should be spelling "Arminian" incorrectly. It is an almost sure sign of a newbee. :)

For the record: Armenia is a former Soviet Republic state. Thus Armenians are likely citizens or at least residents of said state.

Arminians, or those who do not understand the distinctions between Arminians and Calvinists, should start here and then move forward with their discussion topics.

As for the WWJD acrostic, the answer is clear. He would do exactly what He did do. ;)
