That really amused me. Thanks for making me laugh!

You're welcome. :)

"Thunder rolled, heavy and abrupt, shaking the windowpanes of Aidan's room. Aidan put down the scrolls he had been reading and got up to look out at the approaching storm."

- "The Rise of the Wyrm Lord" by Wayne Thomas Batson

I highly recommend Batson's "The Door Within" trilogy. They're Christian fantasy books. I loved the first book in the trilogy, and am looking forward to reading this next one.

"Howard Roark laughed."

(The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand)
that could very well have been the best book i have ever read. EVER! :)

A new movement made its public debut at a conference of scientists and philosophers held at Southern Methodist University in March 1992, following the publication of my book 'Darwin on Trial'.

"The purpose of this student workbook is to help you learn the material in the basic anatomy and physiology course you are about to take. How much you learn and how well you learn it is up to you, so it is important to remember that real learning depends on many factors." - Student Workbook for Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology by Valerie C. Scanlon and Tina Sanders.

My first recollections in life reach back a long way, more than three-score years and ten now.

From The Personal Memoirs of Julia Dent Grant (Mrs. Ulysses S. Grant)

BTW, I only own that book because my aunt gave it to me for my birthday, since I'm related to Julia Dent Grant on her side of the family. I'm not usually interested in the personal lives of dead presidents' wives, lol.

Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient etherised upon a table;
Oh, Eliott.
Be still my heart!

Mine is:
'Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul.'

Nabokov is an incredible writer.

Awesome :)

Funny you should mention that, I'm planning to read Lolita at some point this summer. Those are opening lines that crop up in pretty much every "favorite opening lines" thread I've ever seen. :D I was initially confused when I read the forward, then I worked out that it was a fictitious forward to fictitious memoirs, I accidentally started the novel without realising :p - interesting writer indeed. :)

"We are all dying to believe. And dying because we don't. I think believing is a little like looking past what we can see to stare into the eyes of God while falling forward into the blackness- forward, ever forward- free-falling until finally we can see. When we do, what we see is what He sees." God.Com by James Alexander Langteaux
