I thought maybe a welcome sign or a bell.

We have always had a bell that I got in Abilene Kansas.

I'm thinking maybe a bell or a door chime?

Well... There are numbers near the front door.. a doorbell, a small pine tree and some flowers and bushes near the front door, underneath the living room window outside. No chime though. I found a bird once, by the front door after hearing a loud bang. The poor thing hurt itself, so I put it in a box with breathing holes and took it to a University hospital. But... that's it.

It seems you can get wired or wireless, some come with programmable ring tones.

Gosh I never knew. What happens if people come to our door is they have to bang on the glass if they go to the back or knock loudly or yell if they go round the front.

If they are jehovahs witnesses we dont answer.

The thing to do with JH's is when they come to your house usher them in quickly and once they are seated start witnessing to them as a Baptist and teach them the correct meanings of the Bible. They will leave as quick as they can and never come back. They will even make notes and warn future JH's to never go to that house. Its easier than ignoring them every few months.

Two of them tried to accost me in the mall and wanted me to come to their bible study but I said they could come to my church instead. Nowhere is really safe, like they ambushed me literally jumping in front of me and stopping me from minding my own business, window shopping.

On the gun forums if somebody talks about their gun or target practice everybody always reply's with "pictures or it never happened".

No, they backed away when I tried to do that. Also it was near closing time and I had to go home.

found a bell on trademe. It has a rooster on it. I am aiming for the kitsch look. It doesn't need batteries or power. You just clang it as its made of cast iron.

This will be more conducive to my peace of mind as just this afternoon two Mormon missionaries came to my door and knocked loudly. I was terrified, at first I thought it was the Mormon boy next door wanting a hug, but there were two of them wanting to speak Chinese to me. I told them no, I don't speak Chinese (in English). Japanese? asked the other one, hopefully.
No sorry I don't speak Japanese either.
I didn't bother answering the door and went to the backyard instead, but they walked all the way round and found me there. Finally I told them, via sign language, that I wasn't interested in their religion.

Talk to the hand, basically. Would this have a different outcome if I had a doorbell with a rooster on it? They may have been less scary and wanted to talk to me about my unusual door bell instead. We could have bonded over door bells, or if I had one that played Fur Elise. Then they would have forgot what they came for and go away thinking, next time we not going to knock on people's doors because according to this focus group, 99% of people won't answer.

I am going to bid on this 3 seater swing seat, because my porch doesn't have anywhere to sit and it was on $1 reserve. The auction ends in five hours time.
I hope to win! Then, because it is 3 seater, I can have a lie down outside and mum can have the living room couch to herself. It just needs new cushions.

I mean I'm not paying more than I have to, and these swing seats sell new for at least $120.
I would like one because I have no trees which are strong or tall enough to carry a hammock.

I don't mind this one as well, but the toggles could get annoying and I don't really like the idea of a hood on a coat either
