Well ok but He didnt tell me that. I think I already had my seven years of tribulations. Well maybe i am in my fifth year now, but before I was a christian, it was very hard.

We are in new testament times now, and the famine is in the Word, not necessarily physical food. Rememeber Jesus is the Word made flesh but we eat the Word as man cannot live by bread alone.

yeah i don't think I want a stainless steel. but if I buy me the 3v gso 5.1 I can see how hard it is to sharpen and if I don't like it I can sell it for full price I bet. ug the esee 5 cost more than i thought. but the rat 5 looks like it has a full flat grind. I guess that is okay, though I would prefer a saber grind. it is a lot cheaper :0 . is the rat-5 1/4 an inch thick? i'm thinking 3/16 is ideal.

I did not think about the 3v chipping out and being so hard to fix in the field. I guess there is a lot of reasons why so many prefer 1095. but what if I don't care how long it takes to fix? if my situation was so serious as that I guarantee you that I will be homeless and will have lots of free time lol.

I will prob buy me a husqvarna axe though. there is no way i'm gonna pay 230~$ for a gransfors bruks small forest axe. are husqvarna axe convex or scandi? how the heck am I supposed to touch up a convex axe in the field? or do even the GB axe have a semi convex edge to them? can you touch up a convex edge axe with a file?

bah if SHTF I don't think it will be that long of a bad time. there are already so many systems in place already, they would just need tinkering. what could even be the cause wherein you would need to stock up with a years supply? think if that happens... you know people are gonna try to rob you at gunpoint over food. if things got that bad it might be better to go and sustain yourself in the wilds of alaska or something like that lol. but if things got that bad, lots of people will be dying and PLENTY of people will be over hunting wild animals. might be better to just die lol.

The GSO 5.1 will come to you scary sharp so you wont have to sharpen it but you will have to maintain it. Just after use touch it up on a ceramic rod and every now and then strop it on a strip of leather and it will keep its edge for a long time.

The RAT 5 is a full flat grind of which I do not care for either as I like a flat grind/saber grind but for the money it is hard to beat. The Ranger Attack/Assault Knife seems to have a saber grind. I always get rid or the black coating with paint stripper.

The Husqvarna is the best deal going. In axe's people call the grinds wrong. I don't know if its because they don't know or they just say what the guy before them said. From the factory most axe's are convex ground because they ground them on a belt sander and the slack makes it convex. If you continue to sharpen it at home with a belt grinder it will remain a convex grind but once you start using a file and stone it becomes a primary and secondary flat grind which is a V grind but the angels are so small that some still call it a convex grind of which it is not. If you keep your axe honed with an axe sharpening stone which will deburr the edge you will be fine.

As for getting robed of food, that is where you will have to trust in God because the second you kill somebody the government will come in and take everything. One of our jobs as a Christian is to stay hidden from the world.

And lets not forget the Schrade SCHF51. I know its made in Taiwan but that is better then in China where it use to be made but for only $32 you get a well made knife made of 1095 plus it comes with a diamond stone and a fero rod to help start fires. Its a great package to lean what you like in a survival knife.

The parables are nice but when Jesus told us there would be a period of hard times He meant there would really be a period of hard times.

The hardest times in my life did not start until I became a Christian. Its not easy burning the world out of a person.

Hmm ok. I never knew people knew so much about knives.

Well. I did buy some new secatuers for my pruning workshop a few weeks ago and they were only $10 for two. As long as you look after them, keep them oiled they should be ok.

One is parrot beak and one is anvil. Parrot beaks cut new wood and anvils are better for old wood apparently. So its good to have two.

They are essential tools, you cant just break off branches and take cuttings with ordinary scissors.

Not everybody is suppose to know a lot about knives but it is one of my many hobbies and Noxot and I have been talking about them in private messages and then I seen his post about them here so I took it public. You don't have to go learn about knives in order to hang here, you can set back and relax and just be normal.

When I compare my burdens to the Christians who are in Asia and they are getting killed and beheaded I realize my burdens are very lite in comparison.

I'd recommend either the GB or Husqvarna.

If you have the money, get the GB.

As far as knives go I'd say it mostly depends on your climate. Carbon steel has better edge retention, but it also comes with the maintenance factor. My knife is CS but if I do get a new one then it'll be SS.
If you're in a drier climate, though, either or works :)

As for grind, most Husqvarna come with convex grind. You could re-profile it but ehh, annoying much.

looking at potting tables and mini greenhouses. I tried to move my table but the wood is all rotten and the wheels came off. It was an old bbq table.

I could make one out of pallets I suppose but I'm not confident in my woodwork skills lol. The last time I did carpentery was in intermediate school.

New pants.... I'm swimming in the ones I have for work. :muahah:

Not sure what that means, Sheena. ^_^

Like, as in, there was a huge flood over where you work and your current attire got ruined because they got soaking wet as you had to swim through so much water, or ...? =P

tomorrow have to go find a JP and get things verified between 10am and 12.

I now have my mini-green house and cyclamen.
Found two jigsaw puzzles and a gardening book.
Also a book on 'critical spirit' that I will read later from the christian bookstore. I wanted to see if they had mezuzahs but they don't, just big crosses, but mum got angry that I put a cross in the garden, she said it reminded her of a cemetery.

Not sure what to put on the doorposts of our house as the tiles of lambs and birds that mum had bought looked good but then she took them down. I cannot fathom mothers.

What does everyone else have by their front door?
I'm thinking maybe a bell or a door chime?

I have a giant cows head with long horns.

Kill one of those awesome Red Stags you have down there and put its head on your door.
