I thought those small subs were attached by cables to a ship. Guess that's not the case. I pray they locate it in time.

You wouldn't catch me in a cramped space thousands of feet beneath the ocean.
If only it was more safe.

5 wealthy tourists wanted to look at it, but they disappeared and experts from Canada and U. S. want to rescue them before they die.

Inner space outer space; the wealthies’ playground.

INSANE!

Coast Guard Capt. Jamie Frederick said rescue teams have searched 7,600 square miles of the Atlantic Ocean since Sunday, but "to date, those search efforts have not yielded any results.'' More search help was on the way, including ships and a third C-130 aircraft dispatched by the Pentagon, but the effort was "an incredibly complex operation,'' Frederick said.

Does anyone here use one of those foam mattress toppers? They're sometimes memory foam and about 3-4 inches thick. Wondering if they're any good?
Don't have one.

Amen! And how much are Canada and U. S. spending on the search, let alone the passengers' cost for what might be a burial at sea? God help them!

I pray for the safety of those aboard the submersible and for their safe return, but the company should be required to re-pay the costs incurred to the governments providing aid.

You have to buy a pocket hose, but I've seen rumors that they have drawbacks. I haven't used mine yet. Now I'm apprehensive,

I thought you used it a long time ago!

I got out the extension cord to mow the front, we have an electric mower. It took longer to get the cord untangled than it did to do the mowing.

I looked out the window a few minutes ago and saw a squirrel tearing one of my biggest tomatoes off a plant. It was hanging over the chicken wire I put up, still green. I went outside and chased him and chastised him. Guess I need to get some insect netting to cover the tomato patch. If it isn't one thing it's another.

Had a chance to try the spaghetti squash?

I finally picked one today. It's turned just slightly yellowish, but is hanging on a fence and I didn't want it to drop off and break open. I also didn't want it to boil in the heat. ;) I'll let it ripen a few days more in the house while I decide how I'll cook it. There are several more that are getting close. I read that if all goes well you can get 4-5 squash per plant. Looks like I'll do that.

I thought groundhogs were adorable until one was eating my tomatoes in Virginia. After retiring from the military, my husband enrolled in college. Squirrels got into our college housing, so they are bad guys in my book! Imagine that --- mooching off of someone else's work!

My MIL used to make green tomato relish. She wasn't a gardener. I wonder if her brother or sister grew tomatoes.

That's what squirrels do -- mooch! They continually hang upside-down on the "squirrel-proof" bird feeders and gobble the food up. I read to soak some rags in apple cider vinegar, or just plain white vinegar, and place them near the tomatoes. So I soaked some and hung them on the chicken wire. I'll see what happens. And I mulched around the rest of my veggies with cedar mulch, supposedly critters don't like the aroma.

My grandma made fried green tomatoes. I seem to remember them being edible...

What kind of drawbacks?

,,,That heat can melt the interior of the hose. I wanted to plant grass seed behind the garage. My neighbor weeded it for me last year. I bought the grass seed then discovered that my hoses were gone! So now I have seed and a new hose, but the area is overgrown with weeds and a volunteer honeysuckle (woody vine). I'll have to pay someone to remove it. I can't do the yardwork. I have very little energy. Honeysuckle is invasive here.

If I was there I'd weed it for you. ;)

I think extreme heat can melt just about any regular garden hose if it lays or hangs in direct sunlight. We've lost a few that way over the years. I made sure to roll ours up and put it in the shade after I watered a few things yesterday morning. The temperature is currently 106. It wouldn't last long in that heat.

We've given up on grass seed. We bought a bag of white clover seed. It just might do the trick.

I'd love some honeysuckle. I can't find any around here. I also can't find Caroline jasmine. Use to could find both everywhere, including regional stores and Lowe's.

It's not that I don't like honeysuckle --- I hate all invasive plants. My neighbors everywhere have maple trees. Their winged seeds fill my yard in the spring and sprout under shrubs and throughout the flower beds. In the fall I get tons of maple and other leaves in my flower beds. One (actually very nice) neighbor says he doesn't rake because the wind blows his leaves away. Yeah, I noticed. I will not say anything to him because he's the nicest neighbor I've ever had. I wouldn't say anything anyway.

Well, we have never had heat above the nineties here; that's why we live in the north. My husband and I both hated heat. We moved here in July many years ago & had to rent a house without A/C. It was rough! We went to A/C Dairy Queen every day. ;)

Thanks. :) I'm just trying to find out if they're good for achy muscles. Most mornings I'm really stiff when I get up.

I don't know. I take Krill oil for my joints. LOL...like an old lady.

I fell asleep and missed the last of the Hallmark Christmas movie I was watching! :(

I'm praying for "y'all" down in Texas and other states affected by the tremendous summer heat! We need God's mercy with the weather in the U. S.. Ours has been okay up here. I'm grateful for our blessing.

What was the movie?

We normally get a heat wave or two sometime during the summer. Sometimes they last a week or two, as this one looks like it will. Periodically one will last all summer. ;) Locally we're slowly dropping and are forecast to have low to mid 90s by the weekend along with rain chances. I guess someone else will get the heat. Hope not though.
