We started dating on September 1st, 2011 and got engaged on September 1st, 2013. We got married on October 25th, 2014...so we have a couple of the same but different anniversary dates.

OK. Cool.. We had our first date and got engaged on the same calendar day too, and the 2 events were about 45 minutes apart. Neither of us remember the exact date but it was in the first week of February.

I'm so sad and tired of reading lame advice given to people whose spouses are cheating on them. Just because we are Christians, doesn't mean we should stay in an adulterous marriage, and be doormats.

Woke up this morning, watching my wife sleep, was reflecting back on who she was when I first knew her. She was of the “in” crowd, a cheerleader, and a knockout, a senior. I was a skinny freshman. Kind of the “B” crowd, a gear head. This morning I’m overcome with gratitude, with pure joy that she’s mine. She chose me, loves me in all my imperfections.
Also I laugh at the advantage women have in life. Night before last I was aggravated at her. I was determined to stay that way as I laid down to sleep. Five minutes of convincing (without a word spoken) and suddenly I didn’t care to be mad anymore. Men can’t turn the tide that easily. Lol

Went to church today and it was amazing. I also bought a book that talks about how we need to view the Bible as a breathing, living, and loving relationship with God. It's not static. It's been a good weekend, filled with conviction, and rejoicing in His name.

I'm discovering how difficult it is to be a parent...even when I'm only a stand in one. Between school, being a newly wed and balancing a little girl...life is overwhelming me. Suddenly I have a new appreciation for my parents

Yeah - I grump on that one too.

I know in my own case it was how I was raised and what my congregation taught. It can be summed up in the words of a country song from the late 1970s:

God's gonna gitcha for that
God's gonna gitcha for that
No matter what you do, no matter where you're at
God's gonna gitcha for that

I know pretty much nothing I can say will make you feel better right now.
I always kind of console myself that if something doesn't work out, it probably means it's not God's Will for my life. Usually, later on, when I look back I understand why.

I want to do a literature study on the book, "To Kill a Mockingbird", but I cannot because the book uses the Lord's name in vain. sigh Really? So people never say that anywhere and kids are going to be somehow tainted if they read it? I do not believe we are dishonouring God by reading this book with students. Christian legalism is going to be the death of us. I cannot tell you how frustrated I am.

LOL!!!

I spent most of my grade school and middle school summers on my granddad's farm. That man knew how to swear. He had a larger cuss vocabulary than most people have regular vocabularies.

And oh the stuff this grade-schooler learned about how to abuse female anatomy ......

So that particular side of legalism I did not absorb. But just about everything else.....
