I feel very alone and abandoned by so-called "friends." I need some prayers and support to get me out of this awful state of mind.

Brother you are never alone. God and Jesus are always with you. Give all your pains and tribulations to God. He is faithful and always delivers. If you need to talk you know where I am. Bless you!!!!

Friendships should be truly mutual and bi-directional over the long term - have they asked for forgiveness or acknowledged something went wrong? Are they still seeking your company, if not it may be better to move on. Strive to grow to be Christ-like and the best friend possible - ask for feedback by others if there seems to be a pattern where others pull-back eventually. Loneliness is terrible - I get that.

Well just pray for them. You may not like their behavior and you still may feel hurt but eventually God will give you the grace and peace to get you through it. I have had some situations where it took a long time and the feelings are still there but not as strong. Just keep praying. I’m going to read Psalms tonight because @Paidiske inspired me. If you do not have the time to read you can listen to it on the Internet.

Gracious Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus,
I pray for healing for wounds these false friends may have inflicted. Help Riley to see that You are still with him and that he is never alone. Please show him the mistakes that allowed him to fall into fellowship with bad company, and help him to avoid the same mistakes in the future. Finally, please help Riley to be surrounded by better friends who support him physically, emotionally, and in his relationship to You.

If you find yourself continually recounting previous hurts or wrongs pray against the spirit of rejection and bitterness. They work together and you’ll find yourself on an endless cycle of highs and lows. Forgiveness is the other part and you have to lay down the anger. The more you dwell the more you’ll attract negative things. Cast the care and continue to do so until it ceases to come up.
