CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

---I found out an online friend elsewhere committed suicide the other day. It really stings. It'd be like if one of you did. Please don't. Please remember the Lord & his goodness to you.
---My friend is struggling w/ health. Probably nothing to fret over, but you never really know, we are too young to be struggling w/ health.
A reminder he changes the times & the seasons

I know this alone - much less the other two things you mentioned at the same time - is never easy to deal with, for those who were left behind by the friend's suicide yet cared for him/her, but you don't have to worry about it happening with any of us. I pray it will never be so. And may you dear Aunt rest in peace until the day of the Resurrection that our faith hinges upon.

Frustrated w/ churches. The more conservative churches demand perfection & the more liberal churches are too liberal for me.
I missed church today (which I rarely do) & they didn't like it.

It's been a strange week or 2. I don't want this to be a political discussion, but now this one guy got shot dead too. It's just all been a reminder we're all on borrowed time.

We've lost Pope Francis, Jimmy Swaggart, John McArthur, now Charlie Kirk
When was the last time so many prominent church or Christian leaders have passed away.

Pope Francis and McArthur both died from health issues and old age. It's sad, but I don't think it's unexpected. The murder of Charlie Kirk, however, is scary and very concerning. I think his assassination just highlights how far gone and violent many have become. I think there may be more attempts.
