I'm applying yet again at that one Christian school. It has dawned on me that if contacting her were not so triggering to use that friend of mine Emily as a reference. But I already have what I consider fairly solid references, and she wouldn't represent enough of an upgrade over them to be worth the discomfort of contacting her to ask. It's stupid how she has gone from someone I used to be over to someone who upsets me just to compare my pathetic existence to all she's achieving.

Happens all the time. A crush usually comes before a shuddering great fall back down to your senses.

Years ago, I used to crush heavily on this punky redhead girl. She was so alluring and mysterious, until I got to know her and realised her favourite pastime was watching cartoons, ranting on about how unfair the world is, and how despicable she was to anyone outside of her "university dropout" entourage.

I could have forgiven all of that, if it wasn't for the fact that she still spelt out her name with alphabet spaghetti and ate that dish over toast every night for dinner.

This once mysterious, quirky, niche image, soon morphed into that of an overgrown child. To this day (some ten years later) her life hasn't changed. She would end up coming to me several times over the years about how to get better at art, but everytime she started, she'd stop and start complaining about the world again .

Literally everything I wouldn't want.

This crazy dude I was just thinking of who said one time recently on here that well-endowment is on his list of requirements for a future wife.

............ You know, it's one thing to have preferences, but on something that shallow - that I don't think women can really help on how they were created by our Lord - it's just messed up to speak of it out loud to where other women can hear it. It's just not appropriate, and rather impolite.


I have no physical preferences, really, other than that she be beautiful in my eyes. And that can mean just about any type of face or body. If I am inclined to believe that she has a good heart, then she will be pretty to me in the physical sense as well. I have loved and adored many a lady in my time of varying heights, figures, hair color, and size of their chest.

I thought all of them were very pretty, if not amazingly beautiful.

Nobody should be okay with sexual immorality, ever.

Are Christian women sleeping around these days? I've never budged from the stance that no professing Christian should be sleeping with anyone they aren't married to, and that's never changed at all throughout my lifetime. If there's some Christian subculture that's okay with hooking up on dates, I'm not aware of it, and I want no part in it.

It's very high. A lot of people try to justify it since they're not married, it's not really a sin or 'God will forgive me.'
They do recognize it it was a sin once they get married & they stay faithful after marriage - so praise the Lord.

I didn't realize that single men had some criticisms about us women until this decade.

I decided to give the men a chance and listen to what they had to say, because women have negative things to say about men.

Lately, I haven't liked what the men have had to say. One of the big things they criticize us for is being sexually immoral. But then the men will talk about how they were sexually immoral in their teens and 20s. But not in a remorseful, repentant way; they just state it like it was a fact that happened, but they bash bad women. But us ladies are the problem?

I'm over it. Double standards don't work.

The men & women both are sexually immoral.

It bothers me that homosexuality is spoken out against so much but there's nothing on heterosexual immorality. Sadly, I think the reason why is because it's rampant even amongst 'good' Christians. You speak out against it, you're considered a prude. It's even harder to speak out against it as a single person b/c 'you just don't like to have fun' or 'you're just asexual'. Pray for courage!

I don't think it was constructive for me to return to CF. It's just as full of miosgynistic toxicity as before. There's literally no point in being here. The negative, hateful, bitter, entitled men continue to run rampant and create a hostile, ugly atmosphere. No, thanks.

I'm sorry. Sadly there's a lot of men struggling. I'm not saying it's your responsibility, but a good word may be what they need to hear. Plus there's a lot of good threads too. Start a new one if you don't like the threads there are

Brits are so messed up sometimes. A group of football fans got in the face of these two Japanese women (and I mention their race, because this would have been SO alien to them) and began chanting at them. LOUDLY. The girls were so terrified they ran across the street and nearly got run over.

Call me old fashioned and all, but I've always had the mindset that even if you're out with the lads and having a good time, that the general public gets looked after. You shouldn't have people that terrified of you that they risk their lives trying to get away.

You'd never see this in Japan, or, in fact, anywhere else in the world.

Embarrassing scenes to be honest.

Since my previous post is no longer here...

I think it'd be helpful if people posted more about what God is doing in their life. How are they sharing the Gospel? Who is God bringing them into contact with? How are they participating in their church? Are they showing their trust in God's goodness by doing hard things? Memorizing verses or songs? Writing stories or songs? How are devotions going? Common sins they fall to they need help with? Testimonies? Any big dreams about doing big things for God? This is a Christian site but threads aren't reflecting that, so easy to become overwhelmed w/ the negative threads. If you are a Christian, you want to talk about God - it's not just a Sunday thing or someone to go to only when you need something.
