Thank you for the blessings, by the way, Miss @GodDoesListen55 . It is one of those things that really just lightens my morning after a rough night at work.

I finally got my Nintendo Switch to display on my TV set after almost a year of having to use the small screen. It was a simple matter of re-plugging the cord connecting the switch to the TV. I swear I've tried that before, but at least it's working finally.

Which reminds me, even ten years after pretty much turning to Steam exclusively for gaming, I still look back every now and again and find it odd that for me of all people, the latest console I own is from two entire console generations ago. Never got a Wii U, a Switch, a 3DS, PS4 or 5, or an XBox One.

That is odd. You seem like a gamer! I didn't get a Switch till July of this year. Most recent system I had was the original Wii.

In college very few I knew played video games so got pulled away. After graduating, didn't want to get back into it b/c I don't like getting addicted to them, recognizing it's one of the things that destroyed me in middle school & high school, & think it's a problem nation-wide. I finally caved & bought a Switch to play socially w/ a couple buddies, & I play in moderation, only an hour or so a week. Like most things, it's okay if you don't let it control you

(actually that's not true: I did have a 3DS but rarely played it)

Lies of false teachers (Atheists / agnostics infiltrating your church):
Can’t know it’s true
People who say it is are just hoping it is – they don’t really know & can’t
Some of it’s true, most of it’s not
Jesus is just a good moral teacher
Jesus’s sacrifice is to just set an example to tug at your heartstrings to get you to live morally. It's really no different than you making a sacrifice for your brother
God ‘grew up’ between the OT & NT
God set the world up & just watches it, isn’t involved at all, doesn't really even care

It's not that D&D is inherently bad, is that it leads to more problems. People who spoke against it weren't completely wrong. How many people got obsessed w/ fantasy worlds b/c they could see it & learned to neglect the True God who they cannot see but his mercies are all over his works, & so now neglect him in everything? Call them prudes or whatever all you want, they knew what they were talking about.

I found out a girl I knew in high school passed on today. She was a missionary in Kenya. Rejoice for she should be w/ our Lord.

& live in grattitude at all times b/c he may be giving you blessings others may not ever. & know he can come for you at any time.

That's terrible, especially being so young. My condolences to you and all her loved ones.

There's something to be said for that. Not everyone treats fantasy as fiction, after all. When the two are confused it can lead to problems. On a social level, however, I've known quite a few successful and well-adjusted adults who played in the past. Some even continue to play well into their 40s and beyond. They tend to be academics and engineers who like to 'nerd-out' from time to time. Kind of like fantasy football. I've noticed a pretty big overlap between the Dungeons and Dragons crowd and those who are into fantasy sports.

Hobbies and pastimes that are out of balance can intrude on our time with the Lord, but they can also make life more pleasant. I think God designed us to use our imaginations and engage in playful activities in our downtime. They help us bond, reflect, recharge, and not become overly discouraged when we encounter serious issues. But when those serious issues come along, we can use what we learned through play, and maybe even rely on the friendships that we made.
