@MehGuy I'm so happy to see you around here! P.S. Love your signature.

You do?

Just some current gender thoughts I had. In the past I mainly analyzed feminists, but lately I've been taking more of a look at what some might call the manosohere and more socially conservative circles.

They don't really strike me as psychologically sadomasochistic.. but instead they seem more dominate/submissive minded.

Lately I've been trying to understand that psychology.

I am trying to get away from just criticizing one side. Just like men don't like to be hampered about their gender women are the same way.

Although I do have less anger with social conservatives. It might not be my cup of tea but they seem to be more honest about who they are. Plus I grew up with a conservative loving family. Parts of the manosohere is a different story though.

Please pick your jaw up off the floor I almost tripped over it. :p lol
Yes I do! I am not a feminist, and am not one of those women who feels the need to bash men to make myself feel more...something. Powerful I suppose. One of my biggest pet peeves is when anyone says "Women always..." or "Men always..." or something lumping all of one gender together. We're all people, we're all different, and that's the only time I think we should be lumped together is when saying things like we're all human.
I still consider myself Conservative because I have the core beliefs of one however as I've gotten older I have some "non conservative" views. I shake my head and cringe at both sides most of the time. I'm all about understanding the psychology but I'm just over politics nowadays. lol

P.S. Even though you & I may have different views you've always been really kind and funny to/with me and I've always enjoyed our interactions.

Has anyone tried the Plenty of Fish dating app? I think it's free to use.
Don't do itttt, lol. I think it's used for a lot of hook ups now.

I tried it like 10 years ago, I did end up meeting a guy on it and going on a date but he ghosted me soon after.

It's difficult to give advice on specific dating apps because everyone's experience is based on the people they encounter, and who you encounter is going to depend on what you're looking for and where you live, as different apps can be more popular in different places. So an app being successful for one person doesn't necessarily mean that it will be successful for someone else. But if it's free to use then there's really no harm in trying it out.

So, this vacation gave me a lot of time to just sit, listen to music, and reflect, and I think some things need to change.

If I were called to ministry I wouldn't look to apps or websites for a spouse. I'd consider my calling in light of the times and seasons and prioritize connections with Kingdom minded people earnestly pursuing their purpose. Building a network of kindred spirits would be my priority. Which would lead me to others of a similar disposition and a burgeoning community of Kingdom citizens.

I'd seek my Esther within the circle. :)

Thank you for that. I was mostly thinking my church has young teens then 50-80 year olds. But prayerfully we can change that. I need to be patient and wait for God, especially now that I'm entering ministry.

I have some conservative views as well. It's stupid to be progressive for the sake of being progressive. As someone who respects evolutionary psychology, I do have sympathy for some conservative views and probably hold some of them myself. Like... I keep mindful to not 'throw the baby out with the bathwater'. Like you I've changed over time. Overall, if a conservative isn't trying to push their views on me.. I don't really have a problem with them.

Curious, what views have changed since you've gotten older?

The use of the word "haunting" gave me a chuckle. I couldn't help but picture you as some kind of spectral presence, drifting through the extensive web of PoF profiles and sending eerie messages to people. I realize that's not the case, but the mental image was amusing.
